The MTV VMAs Was A Real Random Bag Of Fashion Looks
Obviously nothing can ever top the legendary sequinned charisma of Lil’ Kim’s purple nipple cover at the 1999 MTV VMA’s, but that’s not nearly a good enough excuse for people not to try. An iconic look is like rolling dice; you might wear something that ends up in one of those Best Looks of ALL TIME galleries for the rest of the internet’s existence, or you might be just wearing clothing. Cardi B could have shocked eyes by showing up in big hair, a dramatic cape, and no pants, but – yawn – been there, done that. Instead, Cardi B made her first red carpet appearance since giving birth last month in a purple gown by Nicolas Jebran and a pussycat wig. Cardi is giving me eccentric Beverly Hills housewife at a charity gala trying to steal the spotlight from her rival Bitsy Saint Claire. Wait a second – rich, attention-getting, short dark hair, daughter’s name spelled with an unnecessary K? Kris Jenner must be so flattered right now.
Millie Bobby Brown Addressed Her Bullies During Her MTV Movie & TV Award Acceptance Speech
14-year-old Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things is very popular. I’m sure you lost count how many grown men in pink dresses carrying a box of Eggo waffles you saw this and last Halloween. Unfortunately, Millie recently became popular on social media for a shitty reason. Millie was turned into a homophobic meme, which resulted in Millie quitting Twitter for a while.
Last night Millie won Best Performance in a Show at the MTV Movie & TV Awards, and her acceptance speech contained a direct message to the trolls responsible for those memes.
Cheryl And Liam Payne Responded To The Break-Up Rumors By Doing The BRIT Awards Together
Nothing sells tabloids in England like transcripts of a wire-tapped phone conversation of the Royal Family or Cheryl Cole breakup rumors (what will her next last name be?!), but the latest round of relationship-on-the-rocks reports may be false…or at least not ready to be announced until some financial settlement is made. Cheryl was rumored to be in “crisis talks” with the father of her baby Liam Payne, and it wasn’t just a crisis of some of the fug fashion he rocks on Instagram. While the word was they were oh-so-close to breaking up, they both arrived to the red carpet of the BRIT Awards tonight in London looking like their usual Mrs. Robinson-and-boytoy selves. Many Tried, But Nobody Beat Kate Hudson On The Red Carpet At The SAG Awards
There was a lot of messy fashion at the SAG Awards last night (prepare yourself accordingly after that jump below!). But obviously any effort that was put in was immediately cancelled out the second Kate Hudson returned to the scene of last year’s fashion crime and fully outdid herself in a fluffy Valentino vision of countrified love. I say love because, duh, the hearts a’plenty, but also because I love this dress. What’s not to love? Black velvet (check), pink beauty pageant chiffon (check), a high-lace neckline with corresponding bib of ruffles (checking furiously). The only thing missing is a pink parasol. Kate probably left it in the limo for fear of being mistaken for Miley Cyrus in a knock-off production of My Fair Lady called Decent Lookin’ Gal.
Here’s who else showed up and sizzled eyeballs with style.
A Bunch Of Celebrities Came To The Defense Of A Bullied Tennessee Boy
On any other Monday, I’d come here swinging with a heaping case of new week “Fuq dis shit–itis” and be ready to pile on some shade at Lindsay Lohan or whoever else was a mess at Sunday brunch, but the new season of The Crown has this kween feeling like THE QUEEN, so I’ll be diplomatic for 10 minutes and bring you a case of the worldwide awwwww’s that came from poor Keaton Jones’ bullying down in Tennessee. Eleven From “Stranger Things” Traded In Her Buzz Cut For Some Extensions
The red carpet premiere of the second season of Netflix’s hit show Stranger Things happened in Los Angeles last night. Millie Bobby Brown has sort of become the show’s breakout star – well, unless you’re count Winona Ryder’s catalogue of endlessly entertaining reaction faces. It feels like every Spirit Halloween store I walk past has a giant picture right at the door of someone dressed up in a cheap $29.99 Eleven costume (box of Eggos not included). Everyone wants to be Eleven, except Millie Bobby Brown herself, apparently.
