This time it’s because Lil Nas X, AKA the walking middle finger for bigots and homophobes, is about to make a major move by becoming a Chief Impact Officer for the brand.

As far as we know. 22-year-old Nas let the big news slip in a new interview with Variety. He says he’s been seeing “someone special” who he thinks is “the one.” Now, my nose lets out involuntary snorts any time a young person announces they’ve found their soulmate (especially when it’s a celebrity), but, hey, maybe it’s really true love! Crazier things have happened. For example, Nas riding a stripper pole down to hell. That was pretty crazy.

If you expected the next music video in Lil Nas X‘s cinematic universe to piss off homophobes and the sex-negative crowd, then you were correct. Lil Nas had said himself on Twitter that the video for Industry Baby is “not for your kids” and it sure isn’t. When I guessed it would be like a gayer Oz I didn’t know how on the absolute nose I was going to be. The video features Lil Nas throwing it back with a prison shower full of naked men before taking over that same prison of hot half-naked men. All in a hot-pink prison uniform. I mean, I could never do jail time but Montero State Prison looks like maybe my type of place…

Lil Nas X had been all over Twitter for days talking about how he was maybe going to jail on Monday over that whole Nike Satan shoe legal debacle. Now as a person with sense, I knew that the 22-year-old pop star would never be going to jail over such a thing and that this was clearly a stunt for promo. And of course, I was correct; instead of going to jail on Monday, Lil Nas debuted a preview of his upcoming single, Industry Baby, produced by Kanye West. Now he’s the one who belongs in jail over clothing!

After having created THEE moment at last Sunday’s BET Awards, Lil Nas X has spent the past few days alternately eloquently bitch slapping his critics, of which there are many, and engaging in sincere conversation about his daring decision to (checks notes) kiss a dude on stage?
