Lil Nas X Put Himself On Trial For His Nike Shoes In The Teaser For His Song “Industry Baby”

Lil Nas X had been all over Twitter for days talking about how he was maybe going to jail on Monday over that whole Nike Satan shoe legal debacle. Now as a person with sense, I knew that the 22-year-old pop star would never be going to jail over such a thing and that this was clearly a stunt for promo. And of course, I was correct; instead of going to jail on Monday, Lil Nas debuted a preview of his upcoming single, Industry Baby, produced by Kanye West. Now he’s the one who belongs in jail over clothing!

Lil Nas sure was trying to get us to believe he was going to jail. Billboard says the rapper was posting TikToks and tweets all weekend worrying about ending up like Lori Loughlin:

Now, the actual legal fight between Nike and the people at MSCHF who worked with Lil Nas X on his blood-filled shoes was settled in April, so Nike v. Lil Nas X – Satan Shoes Trial is purely for show, and boy does this guy put on a performance. Acting out most of the talking roles in the sketch himself, Lil Nas showed off his skills as a flashy lawyer who sucks, an evil lawyer whose probably homophobic, an old judge who needs better prosthetics, a juror whose anti-Lil Nas X, and also prisoner Lil Nas X himself! Completely with the same butterfly neck tattoo thatΒ Shawn Mendes would probably get in prison. Ultimately Lil Nas is sentenced to “5 years in Montero State Prison” so you know what that means: new song and probably a video on Friday! July 23rd he’ll release Industry Baby featuring rapper Jack Harlow and produced by Take A Daytrip and Ye.

Here’s the teaser:

I’m sure Lil Nas X’s new music video and song will piss off the pearl-clutchers as much as his lap dance for Satan. But since they thought that was real maybe they’ll think Lil Nas’ legal battle is real too and consider justice served with this sentence.
