Clothing Brand Magnolia Pearl Has Gone Viral On TikTok As Their Clothes Are Being Referred To As “Poverty Core”
Long gone are the days when paying $600 for a single item of clothing means you won’t look like someone who sleeps in abandoned rail cars and flosses their teeth with hay. Case in point; Magnolia Pearl. No, she isn’t an old Southern Belle obsessed with the antebellum era, nor is she even a person. Magnolia Pearl is a line of hipster chic clothing affectionately referred to as “poverty core.” And do you know who coins terms like that? People who have never been poor a day in their life. Yet ironically, over on TikTok the shade is rich and plentiful as some aren’t understanding what the big fuss is about.
I feel bad for whoever had the unfortunate placement of sitting behind Nigerian singer and nominee Tems at the Oscars because whenever she purchased her outfit, her first thought must have been, “Stretch your neck bitches!” I’m not sure if this was her first time at the ceremony, but I can guarantee you it will be her last time sitting anywhere close to the front since her IDGAF gown is now causing mixed reactions over on Twitter. And some people think her fashion choice was a good idea, while others believe she should have won the award for Best Vision Blocking Vestment.
Shania Twain recently released music for the first time in five years, and taking both the wig-filled video for that single, Waking Up Dreaming, and her looks at last night’s Grammys into account, I’d venture to say she’s hit the “fun sassy wigged auntie” season of her career. She wasn’t nominated for any awards this year, but she first hit the red carpet in a red wig, white pantsuit with black polka dots, and a matching big ass hat (perfect for peeing in); then presented the award for “Best Country Album” with a red wig again and a getup that reminded a lot of people of a character from the anime Chainsaw Man.
Justin Bieber Says H&M Didn’t Get His Permission Or Approval Before Releasing Merch With His Face On It
Usually, when we hear about a fight breaking out over Justin Bieber, it’s rumored to be between his current wife, Hailey Bieber, and his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez. But they’ve buried the hatchet (for now). So, Justin Bieber had to take the fighting over Justin Bieber into his own hands because he’s currently feuding with H&M over a collection of apparel they just released with his image on it; and he says they didn’t get the OK from him, and no one should buy it. Done!
It’s happening. My nightmare is coming true: the 2000s fashion craze is taking hold. A combination of Gen Z-ers stumbling upon reruns of The OC and fashion houses running out of ideas has led to this outcome. And one of the worst trends of the period has made its debut on the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball red carpet. Katie Holmes unabashedly rocked up to the event in the dreaded dress-over-jeans outfit. Maybe the Y2K glitch did actually happen in 2000 and sent us back in time because we’re definitely in the dark ages. Katie Holmes bringing back this Y2K awfulness makes sense since, during the aughts, she brought back the tight-rolled jeans of the 90s!
Now that Kanye West fancies himself an anglophile inspired by THE QUEEN’S passing to (temporarily) release all of his grudges, he had to grace London Fashion Week with his presence. Despite many people holding a grudge against wearing flip-flops with socks outside of the house, Ye showed up to a runway show on Monday serving us “mom screamed at you to bring the groceries in from the car immediately and this was the only foot covering by the back door.” And if the footwear wasn’t enough to get the Brits talking, Ye also whipped up an Instagram Story the night before presumably equating either Kim Kardashian divorcing him or the loss of his mom, Donda West, to the UK losing their queen.
