The 2021 SAG Award Nominations Made Up For All The Golden Globe Award Snubs

February 4, 2021 / Posted by:

The Golden Globe nominations were announced yesterday and there were snubs galore and shows, like Emily In Paris, that many thought deserved nothing, got nominated. The Screen Actors Guild is getting about 800% better press today, because they released their nominations for the 2021 SAG Awards, and guess what? Objective justice was done, and not nearly as many obvious snubs happened. Actually, that’s not true. There’s one very obvious snub, or should I say snubé. That’s right, Emily in Paris got, how you say, pas de nominations. Ah, c’est la vie – there’s always the Golden Globes.

The Grammy Awards Have Been Pushed To March 14, And The SAG Awards Aren’t Happy About That

January 6, 2021 / Posted by:

The Screen Actors Guild Awards honors the year’s achievements in film and TV acting. Their trophy is a little like an Oscar, in that it features a naked man, but the SAG has the unique distinction of having an absolutely tremendous ass, and also he’s holding two masks: comedy and tragedy. Today, that cheeked-up statue is choosing the sad mask, because the SAGs just hit a scheduling snag, and it’s all because the Recording Academy just moved the Grammy Awards to the same night as the SAG Awards.

Renee Zellweger Gave Tom Cruise A Shout-Out At The SAG Awards

January 20, 2020 / Posted by:

Renee Zellweger has been sweeping award season this year with her portrayal of Judy Garland in Judy, which seems earned, considering she plays a really convincing Judy for someone who seemed like the last person you’d call to play Judy Garland. Renee has a lot of acceptance speeches to give, and she clearly knows that she can’t skate by on thanking her agent, her manager, and Judy Garland every single damn time. So she’s got to get creative and start thanking people she might not usually thank. Well, Renee took home the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, and her thank-yous included a woman who let her couch surf back in the day, and her Jerry Maguire co-star Tom Cruise.

Modesty Reigned Supreme On The SAG Awards Red Carpet

January 20, 2020 / Posted by:

I don’t know which Project Runway reject fucked up the Overstock.com bedsheet challenge this badly either. And to think, we were so worried about Lizzo getting her juice all over the folding chairs at The Staples Center, we forgot to worry about potential coochie-contact with the upholstered seats at the Shrine Auditorium. However, Sarah Hyland’s short and confusing floral 4th of July bunting skirt was an outlier. For the most part, the outfits on display at last night’s Screen Actors’ Guild Awards were a lot more conservative, ranging from the tiered ruffles and billowy chiffon of a modest religious sect, to tailored suits. On ladies! Hollywood is confusing.

Robert De Niro Subtly Dragged Trump In His SAG Awards Speech

January 20, 2020 / Posted by:

There used to be a time that if Robert De Niro opened his mouth, you might expect him to say something like, “I have nipples Greg, can you milk me?“, and we’d all laugh. But ever since Donald Trump became the 45th President of the United States, Robert De Niro has taken as many opportunities as possible to let us all know how he really feels about the situation. When Bobby D approaches a live mic, there’s a very good chance he’s either going to drag Trump, get bleeped several times for saying “fuck” while dragging trump, or both. Last night’s SAG Awards were no exception. He didn’t drop any f bombs, and he didn’t name Trump by name, but he did make it very clear he’s still on Team Not-Trump.

Brad Pitt And Jennifer Aniston Had A Moment At The SAG Awards

January 20, 2020 / Posted by:

I should be specific. They had several moments at last night’s SAG Awards. During the show. After the show. At an afterparty. Brad Pitt was even caught having a moment with a picture of Jennifer Aniston on a TV screen backstage. All this to say that the tabloids now have enough material for at least sixteen new BRAD PROPOSES TO JEN…AGAIN! covers. Listen to me – acting like they didn’t already have that many drafted up before the SAGs.
