Robert De Niro Dropped Several F-Bombs On CNN While Talking About Fox News And Trump

What you’re looking at is a picture of Robert De Niro mid-fuck. I’m sure there’s at least a handful of horny Raging Bull fans (or Meet The Parents, I don’t judge) out there who would prefer a literal picture of Robert De Niro mid-fuck. But for the rest of us, there’s more than just a picture of Bobby D’s tight “fuck” mouth and aggressive “Oh yes I did just said fuck on live TV” hands.

De Niro appeared on CNN’s Reliable Sources yesterday morning, and he was there to talk about Nancy Pelosi’s recent impeachment investigation into Trump’s shady dealings. Robert has been critical of Trump in the past, and he’s roasted Trump up on Saturday Night Live while playing Robert Mueller. In case there was any gray area left as to how Robert De Niro felt, he declared “Fuck Trump” at the 72nd Tony Awards. This time De Niro’s fuck was directed specifically to Trump’s Fox News-watching supporters.

Reliable Sources host Brian Stelter asked De Niro if he thought Trump was performing or acting as a messy lunatic. De Niro said he thinks that Trump might be. He also suspects some pundits on Fox News are also performing, because he can’t believe that they would honestly “buy into this craziness,” adding “this guy should not be President, period.” Brian pointed out that people on Fox News might come after Robert De Niro for saying such a thing, to which he responded by looking Brian dead in the eyes and saying:

“Fuck ’em. Fuck ’em.”

Robert then generally apologized “Sorry, sorry” to everyone in the studio. Even though he didn’t technically have to, as Brian reminded him – CNN is a cable network, so his fucks weren’t an FCC violation. But Brian did remind him that it’s a Sunday morning show. To be fair, Brian – your show is called Reliable Sources, and you can always rely on Robert De Niro to let out an f-bomb. Martin Scorsese probably watched that clip and thought, “Only two fucks? Oh yeah, that’s right – it’s Sunday morning. Gotta keep it respectful for Jesus.

Before cutting to commercial, De Niro got in the following explanation for why his language got so salty:

“We are in a moment in our lives in this country where this guy is like a gangster. He’s come along and he’s said things, done things, we say over and over again. This is terrible. We’re in a terrible situation. We’re in a terrible situation, and this guy just keeps going on and on and on without being stopped.”

You can watch Robert De Niro go full-crusty 76-year-old at the 1:31 mark. Here’s the version in which CNN bleeped out his fucks.

And here’s the un-bleeped version.

Trump hasn’t responded to Robert De Niro, and he might not, because it looks like he’s too busy retweeting bots and joke accounts. Robert De Niro appears in Joker, so I’m just waiting for Joaquin Phoenix or Todd Phillips to release a statement, thanking him for getting some press in a non-Joker related way. And I hope that De Niro himself provides a follow-up statement about how good it felt to say fuck on CNN. According to Robert De Niro, he’s no stranger to getting fucked when he gets in front of a camera. So I bet it was nice for him to be doing the fucking for once.
