Sources Claim The Weeknd’s “The Idol” Has Veered Into “Torture Porn” Territory Under Sam Levinson’s Direction
Hopper Penn owes Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye a great big thanks because the “nepo baby” debate just got a lot more sinister thanks to accusations that already suspect Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, son of director Barry Levinson, has driven his already wobbly starring vehicle, The Idol, straight off a cliff and into a sea of sexually exploitative “torture porn.” And apparently, The Weeknd and Johnny Depp‘s kid, Lily Rose Depp, are all in for the ride. But according to Rolling Stone, much of the show’s crew are disgusted with the direction the show has taken since The Idol’s original director, Amy Seimetz, “suddenly exited with roughly 80 percent of the six-episode series finished” last April. Sources claim that under Sam’s direction, “It went from satire to the thing it was satirizing.”

Anyone who’s been keeping tabs on the progress that Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye has been making with his and Sam Levinson’s HBO drama The Idol has had to keep their head on a swivel as the direction of the show and the members of the cast have been as back and forth as The Weeknd and Bella Hadid’s messy past relationship status. Last month, a teaser featuring cocaine, sex, and darkly lit rooms was released, which was to be expected since Sam, the controversial director of Euphoria, and The Weeknd, who loves coke, are at the helm. No premiere date for the show–which is about “a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, who develops a complicated relationship with an up-and-coming pop idol–has been given, but we may be getting closer since this weekend The Weeknd played a new teaser for The Idol at his Saturday night concert in Las Vegas, according to Variety.

Now that his most recent Trial of the Century is over, Johnny Depp has a bit of free time to relax, reflect and create art before his next trial begins when he’ll face off against Gregg “Rocky” Brooks, a crew member who is accusing Johnny of assault on the set of City of Lies back in 2017. BuzzFeed reports that Johnny’s been hard at work in his studio creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces for his NFT project called Never Fear Truth, which he launched in January. According to his website, the NTFs on offer are digital images of photographs of “People he has known well, and who have inspired him as a person,” that Jonny’s smeared with paint, sharpies and god know what else, to create an image that “is an intimate reflection of their character in Johnny’s eyes; a portrayal of how they have revealed themselves to him.” One of Johnny’s frequent subjects is his daughter Lily-Rose Depp, who, incidentally, is currently being attacked on social media by Depp trolls for not publicly showing support for Johnny during his trial.

Just because all of the BAFTA acting nominations went to white people, that doesn’t mean the white people that were nominated are afraid of a little color (not sure we can’t say the same for the BAFTA president Prince William). Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ 17-year-old daughter Lily-Rose Depp closed today’s Chanel couture show in something that a rich southern belle would wear to her quinceañera in the 1980s. Lily-Rose looks like a school girl from the 1920s who’s in the middle of getting attacked by a pack of mutated shower puffs from the future. That dress looks like what you would get if you injected steroids into the knitted toilet paper cozy in your memaw’s guest bathroom.
Lily-Rose Depp is apparently Kunty Karl’s current muse and that’s why she wore the wedding dress at the Chanel show in Paris today. Two things:
- I once read an article about the world of couture, and a customer said that nobody asks how much that shit costs. If you have to ask, you can’t afford it. So based on that, I’m guessing that Kunty Karl knows of a billionaire 9-year-old girl who really needs a beyond-froofy froofy Barbie gown for the play wedding she’s having with her teddy bear. Because that’s who that dress is for.
- I hope that Lily-Rose learned how to run in that dress. Because I’m sure that when she and Kunty Karl got backstage, his vampire nostrils started to twitch and when his vampire nostrils start to switch, you better run before it’s too late. He smells your blood!
