The Met Gala is usually Ladies Night plus Jared Leto as most of the men just throw on a tux and call it a day. But this year saw a lot more fellows willing to risk it all in the name of FASHION! Ok, maybe not risking it all, but at the very least, risking falling down the stairs ass-over-tea kettle like Jason Derulo by wearing a chunky shoe. Of course, you’re gonna have your showboats like Lil Nas X here who’s outfit included two separate reveals and enough tooch-booching to make even Tyra Banks scream “THIS IS TOO MUCH!”

The main reason fashion fans follow the Met Gala is to see walking eyebrows like Dan Levy and Cara Delevigne get political! Dan, Cara, Saweetie, athlete Megan Rapinoe, and politicians Carolyn Maloney and Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez all chose to serve their fashion statements with actual statements. During last night’s Met Gala, Keke Palmer co-hosted Vogue‘s live stream of the event, along with Ilana Glazer, and interviewed celebs and cracked jokes, and was the funny, personable person she usually is. While hosting, Keke said that she was excited to go inside and eat. Well, hopefully, Keke slipped a protein bar in her purse. Because the food looked like somebody’s leftovers.

Jennifer Lopez is probably never going to win that Oscar, and if she does, I hope it’s for something really stupid like a sequel to Jersey Girl called Jersey Woman. But she does deserve something special for all her hard work! JLo is out here working harder than a coal miner with 17 mouths to feed (or gig worker with 2 kids trying to make rent in 2021, adjusted for inflation). In the past couple of weeks alone, JLo has been to Italy TWICE and made an appearance at the MTV VMAs. Yet she still made time to thumb her nose at Ben Affleck’s ex-girlfriend Ana de Armas by recreating one of BenAna’s iconic pap stroll looks from the Spring 2020 COVID collection. Kissing with masks on. Thank god JLo has almost certainly gotten Ben to switch to a vape pen because I am forever haunted by those pictures of him smoking with his mask on. Because you know JLo’s not about to rub her moneymaker all over some dirty ashtray.

Rihanna was a co-chair of the 2018 Met Gala and has attended many times, so naturally, a whole lot of people expected to see Rihanna part the sea of photographers like a sexy Moses. Except people had to wait a while for Rihanna to show up. She was the last celebrity to arrive and when she did, she and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky kept it comfy cozy. Okay yes, Rihanna has paired her nylon puffy coat and slouchy beanie with millions of dollars worth of diamonds, but I’m pretty sure that’s Rihanna’s version of casual.

Iman is 66 years young and still stunting on all these little TikTokers and influencers who managed to score an invite to the 2021 Met Gala. Iman showed up as the most important thing in the galaxy: THE SUN. Not sure what it had to do with the theme, In America: A Lexicon Of Fashion, who cares. It’s Iman! And other icons who graced the Met Gala with their presences included Debbie Harry, Whoopi Goldberg, and Sharon Stone.
