Lea Michele Got Several Standing Ovations During Her Opening Night In Broadway’s “Funny Girl”

“You back there! I see you. You’re not standing, bitch. Groff, grab my prunes, a wig needs shitting in.”

After successfully praying at her altar to the dark Gods for Beanie Feldstein’s downfall, Lea Michele made her debut as Fanny Brice in Funny Girl on Broadway last night, and apparently, it was a success. And it was such a success that Lea reportedly got seven standing ovations. Although, the audience was filled with her friends and past co-workers like Jonathan Groff, Ryan Murphy, Drew Barrymore, Lee Pace, Zachary Quinto, and many theater people like Harvey Fierstein. So they had to stand or Lea Michele would get their asses! And Lea probably made her assistant hide electro shock pads on each chair and trigger that shit every time Lea wanted a standing O. But still, Lea is now out of the cancel corner and is back! And I’m sure that her power bars of evil are quickly recharging as Jonathan Groff reads her all the words of praise for her performance this morning.

Beanie Feldstein And Jane Lynch Are Both Leaving The Broadway Revival Of “Funny Girl” In The Fall

In April, Beanie Feldstein took the stage back as the titular funny girl herself Fanny Brice in the first-ever Broadway revival of Funny Girl. The original Fanny, Barbra Streisand, stayed with the show for almost two years. But well, Beanie Feldstein will only be the “greatest star” for another five months. Also joining her exit is Jane Lynch.

The Cast Of “Glee” Paid Tribute To Naya Rivera

Yesterday, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub confirmed the awful, heartbreaking news that the body that was recovered in Lake Piru after a 5-day search was that of 33-year-old Naya Rivera. Naya’s biggest on-screen credit was arguably the role of Santana in Glee. Much like Mercedes, Santana could have easily carried 100% of her songs without the help of any New Directions backup, but Glee was an ensemble show, which is why everyone usually came together to belt out their emotions through song. Many of Naya’s former cast members have channeled that same ensemble energy, by spilling their feelings online together about Naya’s passing. Yes, even Glee’s most hated former cast member, Lea Michele.

The previously universally beloved Jane Lynch is discovering that universal belovedness is cheap when venturing into the hellish toilet landscape that is politics on Twitter. Jane Lynch defended rich people in a tweet after this week’s Democratic presidential debate featured candidate Elizabeth Warren going after her fellow candidate Pete Buttigieg for holding a fundraiser in a Napa Valley “wine cave.” This provoked tweets dragging Jane for defending billionaires and comparing her to her high society character on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. But what I’m wondering is, are there BEER CAVERNS, too? Who has those? Can I go there? Are there tours?

RuPaul Has Tied Jeff Probst’s Emmy Record For Outstanding Reality Host

RuPaul is a legend that has been around for a while (that sounds shady, but it’s the truth – photographs from the 90s don’t lie!) And you don’t achieve legendary status without also breaking a bunch of records. Like most hours clocked through the soft-focus filter of a camera lens, or total number of miles walked down a runway in a beaded gown while holding your breath. Over the weekend, the Creative Arts Emmys were held in Los Angeles, and RuPaul has come one more award closer to breaking yet another record.

“Hmmm, I don’t remember seeing a badly made Taylor Swift wax figure on the guest list,” said the organizers of the opening gala of the Palm Springs International Festival last night when Nicole Kidman walked the red carpet in one of Elle Fanning’s old dresses that her kids doodled on. That dress was made by Dior, but it looks more like something from David Bridal’s collection of wedding clothes inspired by Angelina Jolie’s doodled-on wedding dress. That whole look is giving me a Big situation. Because of that end-of-the-night prom hair and that dress from Justice, it looks like a little girl took over her body and made all of the design decisions for her. It’s a little Whatever Happened To Baby Jane goes to spring formal.

Thankfully, glamorous savior Suzanne Somers once again cleansed the red carpet of messy dreadfulness with her Ann Jillian razor cut, Wayland Flowers-approved rouge and L’eggs covered legs.

If it went with her ensemble, I’d say that Suzanne Somers should get a Medal of Honor for saving events with her sparkly glamour!
