Queer Eye’s Antoni Porowski is officially off the market. Today he took to Instagram to share the big news that he and brand strategy director Kevin Harrington are engaged! Congratulations, you two! Unless this is all a big lie to sell “gourmet pet food mix-ins and functional toppers”, a la Antoni and Jonathan Van Ness’ fake relationship stunt from a couple of months ago. I don’t know what to believe anymore…
My resolution for 2021 was to exclusively write positive, non-snarky, good news. So there’s a very high chance this will be my last post of the year. Here goes! Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness revealed he married his “best friend” Mark Peacock in the past year. Awww! He broke the news in the caption of one of those end of 2020 reflection posts on the ‘Gram, writing, “I got married to my best friend & have a loving partner to continue building my life with.” He included a picture of himself and Mark Peacock wearing white and holding hands.
Many see Jonathan Van Ness as a glitter-embedded bubble of pure sunshine, but before he was bringing out the smiles on Queer Eye and Gay of Thrones, he was in a dark place after being abused by an older boy, and went through binge eating, doing the bad shit, and selling himself on Gay.com. And he also talked about finding out that he’s HIV positive when he was 25 years old.
RuPaul is a legend that has been around for a while (that sounds shady, but it’s the truth – photographs from the 90s don’t lie!) And you don’t achieve legendary status without also breaking a bunch of records. Like most hours clocked through the soft-focus filter of a camera lens, or total number of miles walked down a runway in a beaded gown while holding your breath. Over the weekend, the Creative Arts Emmys were held in Los Angeles, and RuPaul has come one more award closer to breaking yet another record.
