Patton Oswalt Defends His Friendship With Dave Chappelle After Getting Called Out On Social Media

January 3, 2022 / Posted by:

Patton Oswalt recently made the very real celebrity social media misstep of assuming that an innocent selfie with another famous person was going to end in tons of likes and self-esteem-boosting comments. Because Patton recently posed for a picture with his good friend Dave Chappelle, and if you remember anything about Dave Chappelle’s notable achievements from last year, then you know Patton’s picture was received poorly by some people. But! Patton would like you to know that he can be both an LGBTQ ally and a friend to a comedian who has delivered some problematic takes directed towards the trans community.

Ted Cruz Tried To Burn Patton Oswalt On Twitter Over COVID Safety Measures At Live Shows

September 9, 2021 / Posted by:

Ted Cruz, a junior Senator for Texas, decided to make the extremely stupid choice to attempt to insult professional comedian Patton Oswalt. It all started last week when Patton announced on Instagram that he’d be requiring proof of vaccination or a recent negative COVID test for attendees of his upcoming stand-up tour, Patton Oswalt Live: Who’s Ready To Laugh. Patton explained that while most of the venues agreed to go along with his plan, four venues refused: three in Florida (of course) and one in Salt Lake City. So Patton pulled those dates, explaining that, “my ego is not big enough to think that people should die to hear my stupid comedy.”

The conservative news outlet, The Blaze, tweeted a link to their article covering Patton’s canceled shows, and this is when Ted Cruz entered the chat. He retweeted the piece and added the savage burn, “Both of his fans were disappointed.” WHOA. Shots. Fired. How the hell was Patton gonna top that? The answer was: rather effortlessly.

RuPaul Has Tied Jeff Probst’s Emmy Record For Outstanding Reality Host

September 16, 2019 / Posted by:

RuPaul is a legend that has been around for a while (that sounds shady, but it’s the truth – photographs from the 90s don’t lie!) And you don’t achieve legendary status without also breaking a bunch of records. Like most hours clocked through the soft-focus filter of a camera lens, or total number of miles walked down a runway in a beaded gown while holding your breath. Over the weekend, the Creative Arts Emmys were held in Los Angeles, and RuPaul has come one more award closer to breaking yet another record.

Tom Arnold And Mark Burnett Got Into A Pre-Emmy Party Fight (UPDATE)

September 17, 2018 / Posted by:

“DAMN, that’s some good coke” is probably what several people said after watching super producer Mark Burnett (he does Survivor, The Voice, Shark Tank, Celebrity Apprentice, and a few Jesus movies, etc…) choke out Tom Arnold as his wife Roma Downey screamed she was touched by a devil! Although, a middle-aged man throwdown between Tom Arnold and Mark Burnett isn’t that random since Tom has made it his mission to get the tapes of Trump being Trump (read: mouth-farting out racist fuckery) on the set of Celebrity Apprentice, and thinks Mark is trying to protect Trump by not releasing the tapes. It all came to a head last night and Tom and Mark busted out a messy scene that is definitely more exciting than the Emmys itself.

Patton Oswalt Believes Michelle McNamara Deserves Some Credit For The Golden State Killer’s Arrest

April 26, 2018 / Posted by:

Two years ago, Patton Oswalt lost his wife of ten years, true crime writer Michelle McNamara. Michelle had been working on a book about an uncaught serial rapist and killer from the mid-70s/80s she nicknamed “The Golden State Killer.” Patton finished the book after her death, and I’ll Be Gone In The Dark was finally released at the end of February 2018.

Yesterday, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department arrested 72-year-old Joseph James DeAngelo, a man they believe is The Golden State Killer. The police were quick to pat themselves on the back, saying: “We found the needle in the haystack.” Patton Oswalt, on the other hand, is like “Excuse me, but that ‘we’ better also include Michelle.

Open Post: Hosted By The “Black Panther” Purple Carpet Premiere

January 30, 2018 / Posted by:

If you’re sick and tired of hearing the overused screams of “YASSSSS QUEEN” then do yourself a favor and skip this post because the the purple carpet at the Black Panther premiere last night was shouting it from the mountain top! Every little phrase we’ve stolen from drag culture is appropriate here. I am gagged and my wig is snatched. Yes, they all did jump from there.
