Here’s The Teaser Trailer For Amazon’s “A League Of Their Own” Series
While there’s no crying in the teaser trailer for Amazon’s upcoming A League of Their Own series, there is some flirting which apparently is allowed in baseball. According to TVLine, the show “takes a deeper look at race and sexuality,” than the 1992 Penny Marshall-directed film of the same name that inspired it. This is rude because that’s Madonna’s entire reason for living and she isn’t even involved in this one!
Abbi Jacobson Might Have Been Called Out For Supporting IATSE While Still Shooting Unreasonably Long Hours
Fresh off from Katherine Heigl’s vindication over calling out long work hours in Hollywood productions, others have joined in the call out the allegedly bad working conditions faced by film production crew members. Anyone who helps make the magic happen behind the camera is currently fighting for a better contract through their union, IATSE. Abbi Jacobson, co-creator, producer, and current star of Amazon Studios’ A League of Their Own series, recently acknowledged the IATSE negotiations and lent her support. But, as some internet detectives have discovered, Abbi’s support may ring a little hollow, because the A League of Their Own set might be one of those bad ones.
The Emmys Was Bursting With Excessive Amounts Of Fabric Last Night
It’s a bit redundant to say so, because aren’t all award shows just an excuse for fashion houses to clean out their local Fabric Barn and send a famous person down the carpet in more material than a 1980s canopy bed set? But the Emmys did see a lot of by-the-yardage last night, like on Jessica Biel, who said yes to a white Ralph & Russo dress. If you think Jessica and Justin Timberlake look like they stopped by the Emmys on their way to appearing on the top of a wedding cake, you’re not the only one.
“Broad City” Will Bleep Donald Trump’s Name All Season
Broad City spent a lot of time last season talking about Hillary Clinton’s presidential run (she eventually showed up in a guest appearance). So it’s not like they live in a universe in which the outcome of the election would be unknown. Ilana Glazer told USA Today that she and Abbi Jacobson couldn’t not talk about Trump being president. But Trump’s name will be bleeped the whole season.
“We wrote (Season 4) being like, ‘Here we go! Hillary for president!’ [But after] this game-show host became president of our country, we rewrote a lot.”
One episode of the fourth season (which premieres in August) focuses on Ilana working through an inability to orgasm due to Trump-related hang-ups. Of course, they will never name him by name.
“There’s no airtime for this orange (person). We bleep his name the whole season.”
If Trump hisses back, his usual insults won’t have much weight here. “These are such disrespectful ladies, I can’t even call them ladies. They’re city broads, am I right Ivanka? Wait, what do you mean that’s what they’re called? Shit, well…how about this: they’re such low lives, I bet they live with rats. What? They had a hilarious episode about that? Shit.”
