Matthew Libatique, The Cinematographer For “Don’t Worry Darling,” Says That The Set Was “Harmonious”

September 19, 2022 / Posted by:

Never in modern film-making has any film’s cast and crew seemed more deserving of a Real Housewives-type reunion hosted by Andy Cohen than Don’t Worry Darling. The film has continued to deliver rumors and drama from casting all the way to its press tour. I’d envision Olivia Wilde and star/boyfriend Harry Styles seated next to Andy on one couch, with the placement of Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Nick Kroll, Kiki Layne, and Gemma Chan up in the air. Secret guest? Shia LaBeouf walking out screaming unintelligibly from backstage, enlarged texts from Olivia receipts in hand. However, Don’t Worry Darling’s cinematographer, Matthew Libatique, recently said that the set was the “most harmonious” he’s ever been on, so maybe we’ve all just been duped into salivating over the alleged behind-the-scenes entertainment this yet-to-be-released film has already provided us.

Baz Luhrmann Didn’t Cast Harry Styles As Elvis Because He’s Already Harry Styles

June 7, 2022 / Posted by:

There’s been talk about filmmaker Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis for what seems like a decade already. It started with things like “who will play Elvis Presley?” “What about Priscilla Presley?” “Will the actor who gets the titular role actually have to choke down a peanut butter/bacon/banana sandwich on the toilet during filming?” Maybe that last one was just me. Now that the movie is in the can and we know all of the “whos,” Baz revealed some of the “whys.” People like Ansel Elgort, G-Eazy, Miles Teller and Harry Styles were talked about as possible Elvis-es before the role ultimately went to Austin Butler. Baz recently revealed the rationale behind one candidate getting tossed out: Harry Styles didn’t get it because he’s already Harry Styles.

Behold, The Movie And TV Trailers From Last Night’s Super Bowl

February 8, 2021 / Posted by:

Yesterday was the Super Bowl, did you know? I am thankful to say I literally didn’t catch a single minute of Super Bowl LV. I knew there was not going to be a pop singer on a stripper pole, so I didn’t need to partake. But like every Super Bowl, the game was also about the commercials, and plenty of new movie trailers played last night, even though there’s a chance they may not even come out this year. Because as Entertainment Weekly pointed out, many of the movies that were advertised during last year’s Super Bowl still haven’t come out due to COVID-19. But hey maybe F9 will be a drive-in release?

Disney Postponed A Bunch Of Movies Including Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story”

September 23, 2020 / Posted by:

It’s days like today that I miss shirking all my responsibilities and taking myself for a sneaky matinee the most. Sadly, it’s just not an option right now and god knows when it will ever be again. Variety confirms that there’s really no reason for anyone to be putting their phone in airplane mode anytime soon since Disney (which owns damn near everything), has postponed a whole bunch theatrical release dates, most into next year. While it is decidedly “bad news for the exhibition industry,” at least it gives moviegoers an entire year to forget those pesky sexual assault allegations against Ansel Elgort because West Side Story is now scheduled to come out next December.

Amy Adams Is Going To Play A Woman Who Thinks She’s Turning Into A Dog

August 2, 2020 / Posted by:

Amy Adams will NOT be the Susan Lucci of the Academy Awards, okay?! That role is sadly reserved for Glenn Close. But seriously, after being Oscar-nominated––and never winning––SIX times in just over twelve years, Amy (or more likely, Amy’s people) is determined to get her hands on one of those got damn trophies once and for all. And if it’s going to happen, it might as well happen during a year when the last thing anybody has been thinking about is going to the movies. At this rate, Ana de Armas is going to be the only Best Actress Oscar nominee of 2020 for her captivating performances in short films like “Running to Get Dunkin Donuts, Part 21” and “Ben, Hold My Mask While I Pick Up My Dog’s Shit”.

The Cast of “Contagion” Came Out With A Coronavirus PSA

March 28, 2020 / Posted by:

What better way to capitalize on a global crisis than to bring back the stars of a re-discovered cinematic masterpiece and have them teach you how to wash your hands (if, by the way, your hands aren’t already raw from hourly scrubbing, Kate Winslet probably isn’t going to change your mind).
