Jared Leto Says He’s Not A Method Actor And Calls His Process “Immersive Work”
Jared Leto’s method acting process is so notorious that he’s probably made Daniel Day-Lewis say, “Calm down, girl.” Jared gave the Suicide Squad cast gross gifts from his character Joker, and even more recently, Anne Hathaway said that she barely met the “real” Jared Leto because he stayed in character while filming their limited-series WeCrashed. But I guess Jared doesn’t think he’s insufferable enough, because while talking to Variety, he said that what he does isn’t called “method acting,” it’s called “immersive work.” It seems to me that the only thing Jared is immersed in is his own ass, but I’m not the artiste here!
Open Post: Hosted By Dakota Johnson, Wedding Crasher
When Dakota Johnson isn’t pretending to be a spiderperson in movies or George Clooney when making restaurant reservations, she likes taking her show on the road and pretending to be a person who is invited to weddings! That’s right. Dakota is a wedding crasher. I guess when you’re the offspring of famous people, normal hobbies like painting aren’t enough. You gotta go for the weird thrills!
The 2022 SAG Awards Brought The Red Carpet Back To Awards Season
In this, our year of Fuck It, red carpets are back in full swing. You probably don’t remember last year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards since they were host-less, pre-taped and the nominees who bothered to dress up, did so from their backyards, on balconies, in front of white screens or, in Jared Leto’s case, standing on a bridge in what looks like Paris clutching a jewel-encrusted clam-shell looking like Fred from The Scooby Gang’s effete cousin who stopped eating carbs and tried to cover his Midwestern accent by pretending to be “European.” But this year, since COVID is but a mere memory, SAG busted out that dusty rug, hit it with a wet vac, and rolled that red carpet out so Jared could pose for the camera looking like Doc Holiday’s effete cousin who stopped eating carbs and tried to cover his Midwestern accent by pretending to be a 19th century “gentleman huckleberry farmer.”
Bruce Willis Was Nominated For So Many Razzie Awards They Gave Him His Own Category
Awards season usually kicks off with a sloppy, boozy Golden Globes ceremony, but this year, the closest we got was a sloppy, blunted GG nominations announcement followed by some unpaid intern at the HFPA “live-tweeting” the results into a void. But ahead of tomorrow’s announcement of the Oscar nominations, things are looking up. Just not for perennial hopeful Amy Adams who was just nominated for two Razzie Awards for two separate roles this year. While The Golden Raspberry committee had to create an entirely new category devoted to Bruce Willis’ unprecedented EIGHT nominations in a single year, I still believe in Amy and want better for her, prompting me to write a simple invocation. So, please join me in prayer.
Open Post: Hosted By Jared Leto As WeWork Founder Adam Neumann in The Trailer For Apple TV+’s “WeCrashed”
I got a trial subscription to Apple TV+ and as far as I could tell, the only requirement for content is that it has to have big-name stars doing the absolute most, or be Ted Lasso. I base this assessment on having watched exactly 1.25 episodes of The Morning Show and about a minute and a half of that off-putting shit The Shrink Next Door with Will Ferrell and Paul Rudd. So why not also have a movie starring Jared Leto doing an impression of James Franco doing an impression of Tommy Wiseau to play the role of Israeli WeWork founder Adam Neumann. In the trailer for WeCrashed, co-starring Anne Hathaway as his wife Rebekah Neumann, Jared sounds like he put his spicy Italian meatball accent from House of Gucci in a blender, and voila, now it’s hummus!
Tom Ford “Laughed Out Loud” While Watching “House Of Gucci”
House of Gucci got meh reviews from critics who thought it was too camp to be serious and too serious to be camp. Well, Tom Ford, who breathed new life into Gucci as its head designer in the 90s and is featured as a character in it, has given his thoughts on that method-out extravaganza. Tom says that HoG is equivalent to the “nighttime soap Dynasty for subtlety,” and he couldn’t tell if he was watching a real movie or a “Saturday Night Live version of the tale.” Was Kenan Thompson in it? Because that’s how you can tell.
