Open Post: Hosted By Dakota Johnson Pretending To Be George Clooney To Get Restaurant Reservations

I should be more specific, because I am certain at least one person read that headline above, and immediately pictured Dakota Johnson attempting some Face/Off shenanigans with a 3D printed mask of George Clooney’s visage in her Uber on the way to Nobu. That’s not what is happening here. Dakota pretends to be George Clooney over the phone to score dinner reservations.

Dakota says this all happened before she was famous famous, but to be fair, she’s always been famous, because she’s related to famous people. Thanks to being the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, Dakota could pick up the phone, ring Craig’s, and say, “Hi, table for the daughter of the star of Miami Vice? Oh, that’s not doing it for you? How about the daughter of the star of Working Girl. Okay then, playing hard to get. Let’s see if you’ve got a table for the granddaughter of the lady chased by all those spooky birds.” But Dakota told Drew Barrymore on a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show that she uses George Clooney’s name to get a guaranteed reservation and┬áthat she doesn’t even know the man she’s using to catfish reservations but he’s cool with it. via Ace Showbiz:

When asked what her excuse was when she eventually showed up at the fancy restaurant without the Oscar winner, she said she just told the staff, “Oh he’s going to join us later.”

And she recalled being called out by Clooney when they first met. “I was like ‘Hi, I’m Dakota’ and he was like ‘Oh I’ve heard of you. I know what you do. You call and you use my name,’ adding that the father of two was “OK” with it.

It’s probably a good thing that she’s famous enough to land reservations on her own because all that identity fakery wouldn’t have been so fun for the restaurant staff who took said reservations. If Dakota was still pulling this move, eventually a restaurant host would put the bar manager on, and they’d say: “Is┬áthis actually George Clooney or is this Dakota Johnson because we need to know if we should hide the limes or not!
