Bruce Willis Was Nominated For So Many Razzie Awards They Gave Him His Own Category

Awards season usually kicks off with a sloppy, boozy Golden Globes ceremony, but this year, the closest we got was a sloppy, blunted GG nominations announcement followed by some unpaid intern at the HFPA live-tweeting” the results into a void. But ahead of tomorrow’s announcement of the Oscar nominations, things are looking up. Just not for perennial hopeful Amy Adams who was just nominated for two Razzie Awards for two separate roles this year. While The Golden Raspberry committee had to create an entirely new category devoted to Bruce Willis’ unprecedented EIGHT nominations in a single year, I still believe in Amy and want better for her, prompting me to write a simple invocation. So, please join me in prayer.

A Prayer For Amy Adams:

Dear Lord who art in Heaven (citation needed), please watch after Amy whose light has been dimmed by a series of poor choices that have led to me needing to compare her to Taryn Manning. She is far too talented for this. Lord let her forget about an Oscar for a minute and deliver unto her a script for a musical rom-com or something because oof.

Amy and Taryn have each been nominated for two Razzies this year. Amy was nominated for both Worst Actress for The Woman In The Window, and Worst Supporting Actress for Dear Evan Hansen. And Taryn was nominated for Worst Actress for Karen and Worst Supporting for the revenge thriller Every Last One of Them. Which, coincidentally, is what Bruce Willis has to say if anyone were to ask him how many of the eight movies he appeared in 2021 earned him a Razzie nomination. According to The Wrap:

The Razzie Awards nominations recognizing the worst “crap streaming, beaming and steaming from our various screens and devices” of 2021 — as the group put it — have been announced, with LeBron James, “Diana: The Musical,” Amy Adams and Bruce Willis topping the heap.

“Here’s a look at what we saw,” the organization said in a press release. “The excruciating musicals, thrill-free thriller rip-offs, a nearly 2 hour product placement flick, and more Bruce Willis than any starving viewer could stomach. In other words, 2021 did not fail the Razzies!”

Having appeared in eight projects that The Razzie thought were all pretty bad, they gave him his own category this year — Worst Performance by Bruce Willis in a 2021 Movie.

Of the eight Bruce movies, Midnight in The Switchgrass (which also earned Megan Fox a Worst Actress nomination) is the only one I’ve heard of and that is thanks only to Megan and Machine Gun Kelly’s antics. Here’s Bruce’s category sweep.

How does he find the time?! It seemed like he was kicking it in his pajamas at Demi Moore’s house for the entirety of 2020! He must have gotten his incredible celebrity double DoubleDBruce to fill in for him. Here’s a look at the other nominations which include World’s Most Elderly Boy Ben Platt for Dear Evan Hanson, Scott Eastwood continuing to be an embarrassment to the entire Nepotism Community for Dangerous, Jared Leto for House of Gucci with a chance at unseating Glen Close as the only actor to be nominated for a Razzie and an Oscar for the same role and Diana The Musical on Netflix for just about everything else including Worst Picture.
