“Imagine” If All These Celebrities Sang In The Same Key

March 19, 2020 / Posted by:

Corona isn’t the only thing going viral these days. With everybody on lockdown and bored out of their minds, we are grasping at straws for anything even mildly entertaining to distract us from this supremely shitty situation. Some desperate souls have even resorted to watching Cats! Which is why you may have seen the video that’s going around where Gal Gadot and a bafflingly random group of celebrities join together as one to sing John Lennon’s Imagine. You see, coronavirus got Gal to thinking: What if we are all really the same? And to her credit, when it comes right down to it, celebrities really are just like us. They’re also bored, scared, barely any of them can sing, and the ones who can sing, are always doing too much.

FYI, Daniel Radcliffe Does NOT Have Coronavirus

March 11, 2020 / Posted by:

In times of crisis, what the world really needs is to come together as one, and that’s exactly what happened for about 10 minutes yesterday when the entire world was praying for Harry Potter. Ok, maybe not the entire world, but a number of ding-dongs on the internet who believed a false report that Daniel Radcliffe was the first celebrity to test positive for coronavirus. Reader, I was one of those ding-dongs. But because of the rigorous journalistic integrity with which I live my life, I figured it out pretty quickly when the Tweet I saw from @BBCNewsTonight reporting it, didn’t have a link attached. But for a solid 30 seconds, I was like, “oh damn, for real?” Thankfully, Daniel’s publicist has done more to assure the public about the realities of Covid-19 than our own government by letting us know the report is false, and that Jameela Jamil is actually the first celebrity to test positive for the disease (citation needed).

DragCon LA Has Been Cancelled And Coachella May Be Postponed Until October Due To The Coronavirus

March 10, 2020 / Posted by:

Cancel culture just got very real. Last week, South by Southwest was cancelled along with a slew of big name tech conferences. Not to mention the school closures, travel restrictions and numerous events around the world that have also been affected by the spread of coronavirus, government name: Covid-19. And today, even though it’s not until May, DragCon LA has been cancelled due to fears of the spread of the virus. It’s been #cancellT!, “out of an abundance of caution”, and won’t be back until 2021. That’s bad news for any enterprising spooky queens who were planning a sickening Covid-69 lewk this year. However, things aren’t quite so dire for people who bought tickets for Coachella (yet). According to Billboard, festival promoters Goldenvoice are trying to reschedule the festival from the weekends of April 10th and 17th, to the weekends of October 9th and 16th when Covid-19 will, hopefully, be unavailable to headline. And just in time for white girls in Native American headdresses season!

Open Post: Hosted By Fire Officials Warning TikTok Morons About The Dangers Of The Electrical Outlet Challenge

January 28, 2020 / Posted by:

CBS News reports there’s a brand new viral challenge taking place on TikTok that’s certain to kill someone very soon. Some are calling it the Electrical Outlet Challenge and others are calling it the Penny Challenge, but it should really be called The Darwin Awards Induction Ceremony.

Now, in the past people have eaten a spoonful of cinnamon, lit themselves on fire, AND blindfolded themselves after watching a damn Netflix movie. But now, attention-starved kids have upped the dumbness.

Open Post: Hosted By Justin Bieber Losing To Mariah Carey In The Bottle Cap Challenge

July 8, 2019 / Posted by:

Another year, another viral internet “challenge” has been ruined by Justin Bieber. Over the past few years, Justin’s participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (after it had already been won by Phoebe Price), the Mannequin Challenge (after Boston the Boxer had already shut down the competition), the In My feelings Challenge (already won by a hot doc), and least successfully, the Comport Yourself Like You Have A Lick Of Sense challenge. In each of those instances, Justin’s been too late. It’s as if every viral challenge is instantly rendered lame the moment Justin’s assistant types “#…” on his Instagram post. Now he’s done the Bottle Cap Challenge, which was started by started by Kazakh taekwondo champion Farabi Davletchin, and popularized by Jason Statham and our former HSOTD, the chancla ninja. The Challenge as you know: Unscrew the lid off a bottle with a roundhouse kick. The Challenge Killer: Justin’s shirtless torso and under-drawers waistband talking about kicking Tom Cruise’s head in. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a loser. #GameOver
