According to DIW, Hopper HQ’s 4th annual Instagram Rich List just named The Rock the most bankable celebrity on the platform, beating the previous year’s winner Kylie Jenner. Look I know it may not be much, but even an incredibly obscure and essentially meaningless list I’d never heard of before today proclaiming a decrease in Kylie Jenner’s appeal, is enough to keep me from sticking my head in the oven on this particular overcast Thursday afternoon. However, I’m keeping that shit preheated because I also learned that The Rock “enjoys a net worth of $1,015,000 per post” you know, as a treat.

There’s nobody I trust more than TMZ to make the fine calculations required to certify someone’s billionaire status, not even those math geniuses over at Forbes. So when TMZ reports that Kim Kardashian’s company, KKW Beauty, has officially hit the $1 billion mark, it’s time to take notice. Those suckers at Coty beauty, the same ones who bought a controlling interest in Kylie’s Jenner’s company without reading the fine print (according to Forbes), have just bought a 20% stake in KKW for $200 million. Seemingly unable to see or hear the guillotines being erected across the country, Kanye West #tooktotwitter to congratulate Kim on becoming a billionaire, which isn’t even what happened. Her company has been valued at $1 billion, not Kim personally. Not even TMZ got it that wrong.

Yesterday, we learned that Kanye West had recently spent a bunch of money in a very good, very unlikely way for Kanye (which is to say, it wasn’t some out-of-touch weird rich person property flex or a massive waste of plywood and nails). Kanye donated $2 million to the families and legal teams fighting for justice for the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. He also set up a college fund for George’s 6-year-old daughter Gianna. It’s a good thing Kanye opened up his beige Yeezy sweatpants pockets, but now we’re learning he probably didn’t break that much of a sweat while doing it. Because Forbes has just named Kanye West the highest-paid musician of 2020.
