Britney Spears Has Filed Documents Saying That She Doesn’t Want Andrew Wallet Involved In Her Conservatorship
Britney Spears has been fighting with her father Jamie Spears over her longstanding conservatorship, and she’s recently been making some choices that have no doubt left him steaming like a pot of overcooked grits. Jamie just wants to control as much of Britney’s life as the American legal system will allow, while keeping the details of it all as hush-hush as possible. But Britney would like everyone to know the details of what’s going on, like how she wants to be able to pick her co-conservator. Britney has made suggestions previously about who she’d like to see manage her money, and now she’s drawing a line in the sand (easy for an artistic prodigy like Britney) regarding who she doesn’t want. Jaime has been pushing for the return of former co-conservator Andrew Wallet, and Britney doesn’t want that.
Not long after the #FreeBritney movement started last year, Britney Spears herself said in an Instagram video that the rumors aren’t true, she can stand up for herself, and claimed that emails that bashed her father, Daddy Spears, and looked like they came from her were actually faked by Sam Lutfi, her ex-manager and the leech she eventually got a restraining order against. The #FreeBritney movement, who believes she’s being held against her will and wants her conservatorship to end, accused Britney’s puppet masters of forcing her to make that video. Well, Britney is now in support of #FreeBritney, which probably knocked the grits stirring-ladle right out of Daddy Spears’ paw because last month, he said that the “conspiracy theorists” of #FreeBritney wouldn’t know shit about his daughter’s situation if it came out of their asses.
Out of context, this news sounds like a Zoey 101 reboot, in which an all-grown-up Zoey Brooks learns that she’s been assigned the job as a money manager for her long-lost popstar sister, and is forced to take night school classes in Accounting 101. In reality, it’s kind of the same, except Jamie Lynn Spears is well aware of Britney Spears and the management mess she’s been dealing with.
Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ daddy-turned-legal puppet master, has no plans to retire from his current job. Which, technically speaking, is that he’s the person in Britney’s life who is in charge of her estate and finances. But it looks like he might also be angling for an upgrade in his job description. The battle over Britney’s 12-year conservatorship continues, and today’s focus is Jamie. According to some members of the #FreeBritney movement, Jamie has no business in Britney’s business anymore. Britney’s attorney recently informed the courts that Britney doesn’t want Jamie to have complete conservatorship control again. Jamie has piped up with his thoughts, and he’s hoping that he can take the wheel once more, with a little help from one of Britney’s old attorneys.
A couple of days ago we learned that Britney Spears asked the court to allow her to keep Jodi Montgomery on as conservator of her person (as opposed to of her $$) as she sought to relieve her dad Jamie Spears of his duties as conservator of her estate. Jodi is a licensed professional conservator who has been serving in that capacity on a temporary basis in tandem with Jamie since September of 2019. According to Entertainment Tonight, yesterday the courts punted any changes to the arrangement, and “the temporary letters of conservatorship were extended through Feb. 1, 2021.” So at least Britney gets to keep Jodi on, but she’s still stuck with having her dad manage her finances for a while longer. However, should Britney decide to break free altogether, the #FreeBritney movement has an unlikely new recruit— The ACLU.
Britney Spears was scheduled to appear (via Zoom) at a routine conservatorship hearing this past Wednesday. It’s a standard catch up with the judge which happens every 3 months or so. Even though Brit Brit & Co weren’t physically attending, about fifty #FreeBritney protestors (with masks, THANK YOU) gathered outside the courthouse.

Inside, the judge (obviously I’m imagining Judge Judy) was finishing up unrelated, non-confidential business on the Zooms, and, once it was time for Britney’s hearing, asked everyone from the public to get off the call. They did, but then some people sneakily rejoined. The judge kept ordering them off, but they wouldn’t leave. So after 2 HOURS, the judge canceled the hearing. An older judge + technical issues = “Jesus, just reschedule the damned thing!”
