Guillermo Rodriguez of Jimmy Kimmel Live! is in damage-control mode after a Southern California dog rescue group called him out for surrendering two of their Chihuahuas to a shelter. Guillermo adopted the Chihuahuas, named Chase and Rey, as puppies from the Mutt Scouts rescue group two years ago, and they recently ended up in a shelter. Mutt Scouts was pissed since Guillermo signed a contract promising to return the dogs to them if things didn’t work out for whatever reason. Guillermo burped up a response, saying it was all a misunderstanding. According to Guillermo, he recently had knee surgery, so he asked his stepsister to watch his dogs and his grandmother’s bigger dog. His stepsister was afraid the bigger dog was going to harm the Chihuahuas, so she took the little pooches to the shelter (????). Again, Guillermo called this a “misunderstanding,” but he deleted all pics of the dogs from his Instagram, and the dogs are back with MuttScouts, waiting to be fostered. Well, Guillermo will have to answer to GOD about this, and it’s not going to be pretty since we all know that one of the Commandments is Thou Shalt Not Fuck With Chihuahuas. And if my family member “accidentally” dropped my dog off at the shelter, I’d be making two stops that day. My first stop would be the shelter to rescue my dog. My second stop would be the police station to demand the dognapping arrest of my evil ass relative! – Celebitchy

Blue Jays baseball boy Anthony Bass has gone viral after slamming United Airlines on Twitter. The New York Post reports that Anthony’s wife, Sydney Rae James, took a a flight (sans Anthony) on Sunday with their two daughters, 2-year-old Blaire and 5-year-old Brooklyn Rae. Apparently, little Blaire spilled a bunch of popcorn on the floor while she was snacking. Anthony tweeted that a flight attendant made “22 week pregnant” Sydney “get on her hands and knees” to clean it up. He wrote, “Are you kidding me?!?!” and posted a pic of the kids and their mess on the plane. Clearly, 35-year-old Anthony thought his followers would join him in his outrage, but that didn’t happen. Instead, most people took the flight attendant’s side. The prevailing opinion is EAT THE RICH (and eat your popcorn before it gets everywhere).

Another day another resurfaced clip. At this point, you’d think celebs would have assistants with the sole purpose of scouring the internet for problematic videos/tweets and wiping them from existence before they fall into the hands of someone with actual morals. Artist, writer, and actor David Choe, one of the breakout stars from Netflix’s new hit show Beef, is being dragged after journalist Aura Bogado posted an old clip of David calling himself a “successful rapist” on his podcast DVDASA (stands for Double Vag, Double Anal, Sensitive Artist *eyeroll*). And now Netflix users are calling for a boycott against the show as David Choe tries to scrub the clip from the internet.

Jon M. Chu is directing the movie adaptation of Broadway’s Wicked and recently shared teaser pics of Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda. But just like the live-action Little Mermaid trailer and several episodes of Game of Thrones (except that one where ye olde Starbucks was clearly illuminated) that came before it, many fans complained that the images were too dark and worried that the whole film got the trendy dark Hollywood treatment. But Jon followed up and assured everyone that the finished product (part one will be released in November 2024, and part two in 2025) won’t be devoid of color, and then conveniently, pap pics of a brightly lit Ariana/Glinda surfaced shortly after.

Last Thursday, University of Bristol music student Ben Coyles turned 22, and, to celebrate, he and his friends embarked on a Lord of the Rings-themed pub crawl. People went as elves, Ents, Orcs, and Eyes of Sauron, but birthday boy Ben dressed up as Gandalf. Specifically Gandalf the Grey. And it turned out this was the right costume choice because, as Ben and his Fellowship ventured to their penultimate pub just before midnight, they bumped into the real Gandalf, aka Sir Ian McKellen! Ben tells the Bristol Post that he was absolutely “flabbergasted.” Wow, it’s a Tolkien nerd’s dream come true!
