A Blue Jays Player Slammed United Airlines For Making His Pregnant Wife Clean Up Their Kids’ Mess On A Flight
Blue Jays baseball boy Anthony Bass has gone viral after slamming United Airlines on Twitter. The New York Post reports that Anthony’s wife, Sydney Rae James, took a a flight (sans Anthony) on Sunday with their two daughters, 2-year-old Blaire and 5-year-old Brooklyn Rae. Apparently, little Blaire spilled a bunch of popcorn on the floor while she was snacking. Anthony tweeted that a flight attendant made “22 week pregnant” Sydney “get on her hands and knees” to clean it up. He wrote, “Are you kidding me?!?!” and posted a pic of the kids and their mess on the plane. Clearly, 35-year-old Anthony thought his followers would join him in his outrage, but that didn’t happen. Instead, most people took the flight attendant’s side. The prevailing opinion is EAT THE RICH (and eat your popcorn before it gets everywhere).

One commenter asked Anthony who he expected to clean up his kids’ mess, and he replied that the responsibility lies with the plane’s cleaning crew:

The general consensus in the comments was that Sydney should clean up after her own children or use some of Anthony’s $3 million salary to hire a nanny or maid to travel with. One person tweeted that Anthony’s family is the reason people pay more for airline tickets: “you take no personal responsibility & are raising kids to blame others for their mess.” Some applauded United, and one guy tweeted that, instead of rewarding the “wrong behavior of a rich, entitled white guy”, the airline should take the flight attendant’s side.
Sydney’s sister is country singer Jessie James Decker, and she joined Anthony in taking to social media to defend Sydney’s honor. She wrote that her sister’s pregnancy was high risk, and she was “completely humiliated and exhausted”:
But, over on the Jessie James Decker subreddit (excuse me??), an anonymous commenter (zero credibility, but good for gossip) claimed that they were on the same flight as Sydney, who “had zero control of her kids” and was asked “numerous times to get them under control.” They add that Sydney was “rude to the flight attendant and acted like a spoiled brat.” I mean, we don’t know if this is true, but I like this version of events. It’s way more juicy than a frazzled, pregnant mom on the brink.
Even after all the backlash, Trump supporter Anthony doubled down on social media. On Sunday, he reported that United Airlines was dealing with the flight attendant “internally”:

Ah. I see mom and dad kept the giant bag of Skinny Pop closed for their little photo-op. Good call! Not even the most talented baseball boy in the world could catch all that popcorn before Blaire flung it all over the house.
