The Royal Family Has Reportedly Been Told That They Can Sue Netflix Over “The Crown”

November 15, 2021 / Posted by:

Royal sources are saying that Netflix could potentially get sued over The Crown, aka Netflix’s multi-Emmy-winning prestige series about Britain’s Queen Elizabeth, her late husband Prince Philip, her sister Princess Margaret, her kids, like Prince Charles, and his messy marriage to Lady Diana Spencer. It’s been rumored that the Royal Family really doesn’t like watching a sensationalized version of their lives played out in high definition with actors that look vaguely like their respective real-life counterparts. And now, some of the Royal Family’s friends don’t like the idea that they might show up in the upcoming fifth season, so they spoke to lawyers, who allegedly told them everyone has grounds to sue Netflix.

Gillian Anderson Was Asked If She Spoke To Margaret Thatcher About Her Role On “The Crown”

September 20, 2021 / Posted by:

Exactly the Margaret Thatcher you’re thinking of. The woman who died in 2013 at the age of 87 years old. Apparently, that little piece of Thatcher biography trivia hadn’t made its way into the brain of one journalist in the press room at the Emmy Awards last night. But maybe that journalist was all mixed up because they got confused and distracted by Gillian Anderson’s American accent. They wouldn’t have been the only ones who were seemingly afflicted by such last night.

Netflix Has Released The First Official Pictures Of Elizabeth Debicki As Princess Diana And Dominic West as Prince Charles

August 17, 2021 / Posted by:

One of the most fun parts of a based-on-real-people television series is to wait with anticipation at how well or how busted the real-life person is translated into the actor playing the character. Usually it’s pretty satisfying. Sometimes magic happens and it’s good in all the wrong ways. When it comes to Netflix’s award-winning series The Crown, you can usually rely on some pretty close copies. However, there was really not much potential for a gasp-making reveal when it came to the character of Season 5’s version of Princess Diana, since Elizabeth Debicki looks like she was made in a Diana factory. But still, Netflix went ahead and gave us the first official look at Elizabeth as Diana. The shock lies in what Dominic West looks like all dressed up as Prince Charles.

The Hostless, Pre-Taped, History-Making SAG Awards Happened Last Night

April 5, 2021 / Posted by:

And it didn’t make history because it was the first time everyone in the audience and the viewers at home said the words, “Wow, what an enjoyable and short award ceremony!“. I’m sure some people said that, due to the fact that the SAG Awards clocked in at a tight 60 minutes, as promised. And there was no doubt a lot of people appreciated that a pre-taped show cut out the middle man (the middle man being a long-winded acceptance speech that begins with at least 9 full seconds of folded paper fumbling). But the big news was that for the first time in SAG Awards history, all four film acting categories went to non-white nominees. Like the category for Female Actor in a Leading Role – Motion Picture, which went to Viola Davis, seen above freaking out from the comfort of her own couch.

“Nomadland” And “The Crown” Were The Big Winners At The 2021 Critics Choice Awards

March 8, 2021 / Posted by:

The 26th annual Critics Choice Awards happened last night and Nomadland and The Crown won big. Nomadland got all the big movie awards–Best Movie, Best Director, Adapted-Screenplay, you name it. And not only did The Crown sweep almost all the TV Drama acting categories with Best Actor, Best Actress, as well as Best Supporting Actress. But I’m guessing that not many watched The Crown win big at the Critics Choice last night because they were too busy watching season 18 of The Crown on CBS.

Prince Harry Made His Late-Night Show Debut (Featuring A FaceTime Cameo By Meghan Markle)

February 26, 2021 / Posted by:

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have their big 90-minute exclusive CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey scheduled for next Sunday. And normally you wouldn’t see a royal type pop into a late-night TV show segment with James Corden, but Harry isn’t a royal regular anymore, remember? So Harry made a surprise appearance on Thursday’s episode of The Late Late Show with James Corden, where he drank some tea on a Los Angeles tour bus, rapped the lyrics to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song, and talked a little bit of shit about the British press. Hey, I said a little – he’s got to save something for next Sunday with Oprah.
