Prince William And Duchess Kate Are Reportedly “Appalled” About Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Upcoming Interview With Oprah
On March 7th, CBS will air a 90-minute tell-all interview that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did with Oprah Winfrey. It’s their first big TV interview since announcing that they were high-tailing it out of the UK and away from their positions as senior members of the Royal Family. I’m sure a whole lot of people are going to watch with bated breath to see what Harry and Meghan have to say, or whether they just spend the entire 90 minutes exhaling massive sighs of relief that their escape plan worked. But two people who likely won’t be tuning in are Prince William and Duchess Kate, who will be doing their own deep breathing, but theirs will be the kind to lower their heart rate to help calm them down from being so absolutely horrified by that interview.
William and Harry haven’t had the best brotherly relationship over the past few years, so it is kind of expected by this time that anything Harry does is going to be a crumb in William’s crumpet in some way. Sources claimed that Prince William was “sad and shocked” about Harry and Meghan’s response to The Queen’s statement about them leaving senior royal life for good. Well, now a source tells Us Weekly that William and Kate think Harry and Meghan’s interview is the definition of tacky, as they cry, “Won’t somebody PLEASE think of bedridden Prince Philip?!”
“It’s just beyond the pale for William and Kate, especially in light of the dreadful timing with [Prince] Philip in the hospital,” the insider adds. “They are utterly aghast.”
This situation is made all the more dramatic when you remember that on the exact same day as Harry and Meghan’s interview is scheduled to air, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, William, Kate, and others, will be making a statement on television in honor of Commonwealth Day (which happens the next day, on March 8th). But I’m sure William and Kate have a very respectful foreword planned, where they explain that they’d much rather be tending to poor, sick Prince Philip than talking on Television, but they’ve already starched and pressed their “Rich, but make it look down to earth” coordinated couples outfits, so they kind of have to go through with it. But trust, they’re appalled at their own audacity!
Meanwhile, across the pond in Montecito, CA, Harry and Meghan appear to have adopted a Talk-No-Shit attitude when it comes to William and Kate.
“They won’t talk negatively about Prince William and Duchess Kate,” a separate source says. “They don’t want to put any more fuel on that fire.”
This is entirely too much mental and emotional energy dedicated to this interview. Someone needs to assure William and Kate that Harry and Meghan are sitting down with their good friend and neighbor Oprah, not Hard Copy. The toughest question Oprah is probably going to Meghan is whether she uses boiled or simmered water for her powdered oat milk lattes.
