After Roseanne Barr Went On A Podcast And Said The Holocaust Never Happened, Her Son Claimed She Was Being Sarcastic
Hoo boy. Roseanne Barr is making headlines for her recent appearance on Theo Von’s podcast, “This Past Weekend.” According to TMZ, 70-year-old Roseanne (who is Jewish) “joked” that, actually, nobody died in the Holocaust, but “six million Jews should die right now, cuz they cause all the problems in the world.” To absolutely no one’s surprise, Roseanne’s comments sparked outrage. Well, what the hell did she expect? Everyone to guffaw and say, “Awww, I can’t stay mad at crazy ol’ Roseanne! Give her back her sitcom!” After her Holocaust comments went viral, Roseanne’s son, Jake Pentland, told TMZ that the clip making the rounds online lacked context, and he’s “embarrassed that people are stupid enough not to recognize Roseanne is being sarcastic.” Yep, that’s the way to handle yet another PR crisis. Call the people “stupid.”

The film has had its share of controversy, from dumb people getting angry at a fish woman not being white to comments about the lighting to the yassifying Flounder. Well, it looks like controversy is officially part of The Little Mermaid’s marketing plan because it can’t go one week without someone hating on it. This time, fellow live-action Disney star Mena Massoud has gotten into HOT WATER for his SEA SALTY views about the film’s hype.

But, maybe Madonna is trying to convey to the doubters that she delivers (albeit late, which is better than never); because she just released her controversial 2003 “American Life” video on her YouTube channel this week. Back then, she decided against releasing the graphic, militaristic war-themed video due to the dawning of the Iraq War; but now that it’s twenty years later and it doesn’t look like war or violence is going anywhere and she has a tour to hype up, she decided it was high time to give us vintage Madonna face in remastered 4K.

We can thank Jeremy Irons for one of the wildest theories about why legalizing gay marriage is a slippery slope that might one day lead to fathers marrying their own sons for tax purposes. He’s also expounded on why slapping ladies on the tushy ain’t so bad because “any woman worth her salt can deal with it.” And another time he said that he’s glad the Catholic church doesn’t allow abortion because otherwise “nobody’s saying that it’s a sin.” Fortunately, Jeremy’s since learned to keep his trap shut instead of starting a podcast called Pumping Irons. However, according to Variety, Jeremy’s had to address his past remarks after being named president of the international jury for the Berlin International Film Festival, aka the Berlinale.
