Disney Released A New Teaser, The Audio For Halle Bailey’s Version Of “Part Of Your World” And A Bunch Of Character Posters For “The Little Mermaid”

With every passing day, we get closer and closer to the release of Disney’s live-action version of The Little Mermaid. It comes out May 26. To satiate fans who are (sea)foaming at the mouth for that shit, Entertainment Tonight reports that Disney just released a new teaser trailer, the audio of star Halle Bailey singing Part of Your World, and a bunch of character posters. All your favorite animal sidekicks are there: Sebastian the crab (I thought he was a lobster this whole time), Scuttle the seagull, and Flounder the fish, skinnier and more dead-eyed than ever before!
Here are all the character posters released today:

See, this is why I don’t like the live-action versions of Disney animals. Where are their cartoonish expressions and big eyes? Let them smile, goddammit! Also, Awkwafina is voicing Scuttle. Interesting. Will she bring her trademark blaccent to the table? Or do her best impression of Buddy Hackett, who voiced the original character? I, for one, am praying to Poseidon that it’s the latter. Next up, Halle’s version of Part of Your World:
Very pretty. Finally, a new teaser trailer, which shows Ariel and Flounder getting into trouble while scavenging a shipwreck, some more of Melissa McCarthy’s Ursula, and some dancing and fighting:
I dunno. The way the CGI makes the actors’ faces move underwater… it’s sorta creepy. Very uncanny valley. Why couldn’t they pull a Splash and just get the actors to hold their breath underwater for extremely long periods of time? And have no lines? We all know the plot anyway…
