HBO Defends “Euphoria” Against The Allegations Of A “Hellish” Work Environment
Last month, The Daily Beast posted a piece about the messiness going down behind the scenes of Euphoria, including creator Sam Levinson allegedly cutting the screen time of Barbie Ferriera, who plays Kat Hernandez, after the two had a fight about where her character was going. A week after Euphoria‘s season 2 finale aired, The Daily Beast did a follow-up article with more stories from crew members and background actors about how things behind-the-scenes of the show are messier than Jules’ bathroom wastebasket after she takes off all that fairy raver makeup at the end of the night. And those who have heard cast members Sydney Sweeney, Minka Kelly, and Chloe Cherry talk about how they had to push back against filming unnecessary nude scenes are probably bracing themselves for sexual harassment allegations. But these allegations are from anonymous crew members and background actors who say that they’re expected to work long ass hours with not enough breaks and that production is very disorganized since Sam Levinson likes to shoot “off the cuff.” But of course, HBO is defending their second most-watched show of all time because DUH!
R. Kelly Is Broke And Trying To Sell His Music Catalog But No One Wants It
Despite not having released new music since 2018’s “I Admit,” Robert Sylvester Kelly is staying booked (by the feds), busy (in court), and blessed (by Satan). He’s currently standing trial in New York on charges which include “bribery, kidnapping, forced labor, producing child pornography and knowingly infecting some victims with a sexually transmitted disease.” He’s also facing additional charges in Minnesota and Illinois. And people called James Brown the hardest working man in show business! Pfft. The only problem is that Robert’s current gig as a professional defendant does not pay the bills. In fact, it incurs them. So, according to Billboard, Robert is trying to unload his catalog. The only problem is nobody seems to want anything to do with this radioactive pile of shit. Or its music!
Ruth Wilson Left “The Affair” Because It Was An Awful Work Environment
Ruth Wilson, one of the four leads of Showtime’s The Affair, left the show after four seasons (the show ended with five seasons), and at the time, she told Gayle King on CBS This Morning that she wasn’t allowed to talk about her exit. Ruth may never be able to talk about it due to a non-disclosure agreement. Many speculated that Ruth was actually fired, because she had spoken out earlier about getting paid less than co-star Dominic West. Showtime then released a statement saying that Ruth’s character had simply run its course. Now we’ve got some anonymous sources who claim that Ruth leaving the show may have had a lot do with the toxic environment on set. And I don’t mean there was a best boy or a key grip that was constantly playing “Toxic” by Britney Spears (because I think we can all agree that would be a great work environment).
Isaiah Washington Resembles Those Remarks About The Toxic Culture On “Grey’s Anatomy”
While he won’t admit it, Isaiah Washington’s personal theme song is Toxic by Britney Spears. Every time his name is uttered or he enters a room, that electric violin “neer, neer, neer, neer” riff comes on over god’s loudspeaker. And he doesn’t even have to actually be named for it to play. When Ellen Pompeo spoke to Variety last week to talk about fair pay and the toxic work environment on the set of Grey’s Anatomy, she never once mentioned Isaiah by name. But at the mere mention of “toxic”, in came those strings, and Isaiah came running. Isaiah #tooktotwitter to defend his honor by accusing Variety of performing “yellow journalism”, and claiming Ellen received a pay-out for keeping quiet about something Patrick Dempsey did. Neer, neer, neer, neer!
Terry Crews Was Not Having D.L. Hughley’s Mockery Of His Sexual Assault
You wouldn’t think Terry Crews would ever have to prove he’s the bigger man in any situation. I mean just look at the size of him! But he’s been doing it all the same, over and over again on Twitter by championing the cause of victims of sexual assault and tackling toxic masculinity head-on. I didn’t mean to make a sportsball reference, but since Terry used to play in the NFL, I’m going to let it stand. Ever since Terry filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against talent agent Adam Venit during the peak of the #metoo movement, some spectacularly ashy individuals have been coming at him from all directions, mocking him, and challenging his masculinity. And he’s fighting back.
