D.L. Hughley And Leslie Jones Offer Chris Rock Support After Online Backlash From His Netflix Special
Chris Rock has finally broken his silence in regard to the infamous Slap Debate from last year’s Oscars during his life Netflix comedy special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage. And although he discussed many topics, everyone was awaiting how he would address Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith almost a year after that mess went down and just a week before the 2023 Oscars. And Chris went INNNNNNN. But of course, since he’s the last one to speak on the matter, Chris’ response was seen as too little too late by some. But he’s found help from his comedy friends D.L. Hughley and Leslie Jones who both offered their support by directly addressing Chris’ critics.
Mo’Nique Called Out D.L. Hughley Over Alleged Contract Dispute
You know, to be regarded as one of the funniest women in comedy Mo’Nique surely doesn’t like to laugh as much as she should. But then again I would also be pissed most of the time if I were involved in more celebrity beefs than most rappers will ever see in their lifetime. Luckily, Mo’ has made amends with the people who have wronged her in the past and she’s seemingly on the verge of making a comeback. Until now. Because she’s recently caught fellow comedian D.L. Hughley in her crosshairs after claiming he refused to share a stage with her once discovering she would be the headliner. And since this is Mo’ we’re talking about she was more than willing to give a very teachable lesson on why you should NEVER play with her or with her stage time.
D.L. Hughley Tested Positive For COVID-19 After Passing Out On Stage
Up until Friday night, Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville was open for business as usual, no masks required but with the two-drink minimum firmly in place. Comedian D.L. Hughley performed there on Thursday and Friday and he killed! Just how many people he killed is yet to be determined. D.L. passed out on stage during his set and was rushed to the hospital where he tested positive for COVID-19. The club is now closed for a “comprehensive cleaning process conducted by a specialist” and patrons who attend either show are encouraged to contact Metro Health if they “feel some risk of exposure,” which is actually a pretty good punchline if you’re into gallows humor.
Terry Crews Was Not Having D.L. Hughley’s Mockery Of His Sexual Assault
You wouldn’t think Terry Crews would ever have to prove he’s the bigger man in any situation. I mean just look at the size of him! But he’s been doing it all the same, over and over again on Twitter by championing the cause of victims of sexual assault and tackling toxic masculinity head-on. I didn’t mean to make a sportsball reference, but since Terry used to play in the NFL, I’m going to let it stand. Ever since Terry filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against talent agent Adam Venit during the peak of the #metoo movement, some spectacularly ashy individuals have been coming at him from all directions, mocking him, and challenging his masculinity. And he’s fighting back.
