A romantic setting, the paparazzi, a philandering husband that is only attractive if you tilt your head and squint and even then you’re not sure, phantom wedding rings that appear and disappear, all capped off with an embarrassing public display of unity: The Dominic West and Lily James Affair really is the posh version of the Justin Timberlake hand-holding debacle from last year. The parallels are almost uncanny including an attempt to convince the public, and Dominic’s wife Catherine FitzGerald, that everything was perfectly innocent. According to The Daily Mail, Lily might have called Catherine to convince her that the photos we saw of her and Dominic cavorting in Rome “could be innocently explained away.” But let’s be real here, does she have the range? It might be a tough acting job because according to Page Six, multiple eye-witnesses saw what they saw.

Yesterday Dominic West, married father of five, was outed as a cheater cheater pumpkin eater after he was papped rubbing up on 31-year-old actress Lily James in Rome. The two co-stars of the upcoming BBC One miniseries The Pursuit of Love (um, great exposure, by the way) allegedly stayed at a hotel together the entire weekend. Apparently, this was brand new information to Dominic’s wife of ten years/mother to four of his kids, Catherine FitzGerald. A source claimed she was “devastated” and under the impression they had a “good marriage”. And goddamn Dominic wasn’t even answering her calls! Women everywhere replied with cringe-face, “awww, sweetieeee”, and a “thiiis motherfucker”.
Welp, time to double down on that cringe-face, because today 50-year-old Dominic (sans wedding ring) and 49-year-old Catherine (left hand in pocket) marched out to the front of their London home, delivered a signed note to reporters that said, “Our marriage is strong and we’re very much still together”, and smiled and kissed for the cameras. Huh, they went with The Good Wife approach!

Showtime’s The Affair barely put out its fifth and final season last year, but it looks like it’s already been re-booted and this one’s a docu-series. Because 50-year-old Dominic West, who played an asshole cheating slut husband on The Affair, was caught kissing on 31-year-old Lily James in Rome. And Dominic is still married to his wife of ten years Catherine FitzGerald. Well, you know the saying? When in Rome, shamelessly suck face with your side piece in front of everyone. And sources say that this isn’t a Ron Perlman-type situation because Dominic and Catherine are not separated and she’s reportedly devastated by the pics. The Golden Globes should snatch away Dominic’s nomination for The Affair since he obviously wasn’t acting.
