But last night she bravely returned to the spotlight for a sit-down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. 100% a safer bet than Graham Norton. Those British chat shows do not hold back. But Fallon? That sycophant’s blood type is “Softball”.

Last time on The Affair, our girl Lily James was forced to cancel interviews meant to plug Netflix’s Rebecca. Meanwhile, Dominic West was in talks to play an even more notorious cheater, Prince Charles, on The Crown. The other woman’s career suffering while the married man gets more work? Yep, that tracks. Now it’s wife Catherine FitzGerald’s turn to make headlines. Apparently, the 49-year-old landscape gardener has fled to Ireland to stay with her mother at Glin Castle, the family’s ancestral home, for an entire fortnight. Which is Shakespeare for “two weeks” (that’s how long Irish quarantine regulations are). Graham Norton was scheduled to interview the giant purple bruise on Lily James’ thigh, hopefully to ask it how it was born, but it looks like we’re not going to get any answers anytime soon. According to The Sun, new eye-witness accounts of Lily making out with her married friend Dominic West are making it increasingly impossible for anyone to believe that their trip to Rome was all perfectly innocent. The Daily Mail reports that Lily just cancelled a scheduled appearance on The Graham Norton Show for Friday, and Page Six says that she and her Rebecca costar Armie Hammer (who has been experiencing some personal drama of his own) both pulled out of a Today show appearance at the last moment. It was scheduled for this morning. If Dominic was a real gent he’d offer Lily a softball interview on his own morning show, What Is Happening?!?, which he hosts from his front lawn. He did it for his wife, only fair he should do it for his (alleged) mistress. Mistresses got to eat too!
