Despite being with an estimated $10 million on his own, Kelly Clarkson’s estranged husband Brandon Blackstock simply cannot get by on less than $301K a month in spousal support and an additional $135K in child support for their two children who don’t even live with him. According to People, Brandon is asking for what amounts to $5.2 MILLION DOLLARS a year in support even though he already has a lucrative career managing thirsty hos like Blake Shelton. He must be good at his job because he somehow managed to get People Magazine to name Blake The Sexiest Man Alive. Maybe he’s gunning for a cover for himself naming him The Pettiest Man Alive.

Anyone who has ever gotten divorced before can probably tell you that fighting is a part of splitting up, just as much as trying to coordinate schedules for meetings with your divorce lawyer, or deciding who gets the vacuum. But in this case, the fighting might be getting messy messy. Or at least messy enough to possibly be causing the type of post-split problems that would result in Kelly Clarkson getting awarded primary physical custody of her kids she shares with her ex, Brandon Blackstock.

Kelly Clarkson’s famous, wealthy, well-liked, and just an O and a T away from fully EGOT-ing (Daytime Emmys count, OK?!). But our girl’s had a rough past few months. Back in June she filed for divorce from her husband of almost seven years/former Reba McEntire stepson, Brandon Blackstock. This was after the couple and their four kids (River Rose, 6, Remington, 4, and Brandon’s children from his first marriage, Savannah, 18, and Seth, 13) quarantined together in a one-room cabin at their Montana ranch. In retrospect, divorce was the only possible outcome.
Now 38-year-old Kelly’s pulling an Ellen and addressing the elephant in the room on her talk show. The difference is Kelly’s elephant won’t stomp you to death as a “prank” if you make eye contact with it. On the second season premiere of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly said she didn’t see her divorce coming, but she’s putting her kids first and being careful about what she shares publicly.

Last night, the Daytime Emmys (the ugly step-sister of the more glamourous Primetime Emmys) were handed out, virtually––and for yet another year, a whole lot of NOTHING passing as riveting television won big. I can’t relate to anything on-air in the mornings because I’m usually either still passed out, or nursing an edibles-and-wine hangover while barely holding it together in a Zoom call. But after reading this list of winners, it’s clear that I’m not missing out on anything.

Yesterday the news broke that Kelly Clarkson reclaimed her title as Miss Independent, and filed for divorce from her husband of almost seven years/current manager/former Reba stepson, Brandon Blackstock. Kelly asked for joint custody of their 5-year-old daughter, River Rose, and 3-year-old son, Remington Steele Alexander. Brandon also has two teenagers from a former marriage. The entire family has been quarantining at their Montana ranch, and last month they put their L.A. home on the market for $10 million.
So how did Kelly’s friends react to her big decision to Breakaway? Was this one of those splits where everyone texted each other “About time, bitch!”, or is Kelly the type who holds her relationship cards close to her chest (well, her relationship problems, we know she’s not shy about her sex life)? Looks like it’s the latter, because E! News says Kelly’s “inner circle” was as blindsided as Steve Harvey when Kelly stole his daytime slot.
