Kelly Clarkson Filed For Divorce From Her Husband Of Nearly Seven Years
In the words of DJ Khaled, “Another one!” Yep, another celebrity split. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Kelly Clarkson has filed for divorce from her husband/music manager Brandon Blackstock. They have two kids, 5-year-old daughter River Rose, and 3-year-old Remington Alexander. 43-year-old Brandon also has two teenagers, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage. The couple and all four kids have been social distancing at their ranch in Montana. And let’s just tell each other that “Remington” is after Remington Steele and not the gun brand.
The Blast also says that it doesn’t seem like things between Kelly and Brandon will get Jaimie King-levels of messy because they have a prenup and she wants joint custody of their kids.
According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Kelly filed for divorce on June 4, 2020, and in the filing, she is asking the court to order joint legal and physical custody of 5-year-old daughter River Rose, and 4-year old son Remington Alexander, to be split between them.
In the filing, Kelly is asking for the couple’s prenuptial agreement to be enforced which could outline a custody arrangement.
This is 38-year-old Kelly’s first and only marriage. As recently as a few months ago, Kelly was talking about her very active sex life on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show (which she’s currently remotely filming from Montana). In 2017, she said Brandon was the first person she felt truly “sexually attracted” to. Yeesh, good luck on Tinder, Kell.
Kelly and her family recently relocated from Tennessee to Los Angeles when she started filming her talk show. Then last month, the couple put their San Fernando Valley mansion, which they built in 2018, on the market for $10 million.
Some of you may not know that Brendon is actually the former stepson of ginger country legend/the first female Colonel Sanders Reba McEntire. That’s right, Kelly will now be Reba’s former-former-stepdaughter-in-law. Uh oh, do I smell a feud brewin’ between these two Dixie dames? Ehhh, probably not, they both seem to really love and respect one another.
Kelly does indeed seem like a genuinely nice person (although, ya never know with these smiley daytime talk show hosts). So hopefully her life (HER LIFE!) won’t suck (WON’T SUCK!) withooout hiiim (Brandon)!
