You can always count on any BET red carpet to provide some high fashion “moments”, and last night’s BET Awards was no exception. The MET Gala would have been smart to reference “BET red carpet” when trying to get clueless celebrities to grasp the concept of camp. RuPaul’s zebra suit would have looked right at home given the profusion of sequins, pastels, neon, and sculptural pieces that walked the BET carpet. For example, take aspiring rapper/entrepreneur/wig maker to the stars Cliff Vmir (above). His title alone is plenty camp, but throw in a chartreuse vinyl jumpsuit and top it off with a day-glo Victorian fringed lampshade, you’ve got a weenie roast with s’mores for dessert.
Meek Mill Decides Not To Sue The Cosmopolitan After They Apologized For Threatening To Call Cops On Him
Looks like all that fiery passion burning in Meek Mill over the injustice he suffered at the hands of the Cosmopolitan Las Vegas really dissipated quick. TMZ is reporting that after a rocky moment last week during which Meek was ready to sue the Cosmo, the two have come to an amicable resolution. The Cosmo apologized and Meek accepted. See how easy that is? …I mean he’s also probably getting free rooms for life, but it’s the apology that matters.
Meek Mill had a shitty time in Las Vegas. This weekend when 32-year-old Meek tried to get into The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas to see a show in their nightclub, he was turned away. Not only was Mr. Mill turned away, the staff of the hotel threatened that he would be arrested and charged with trespassing if he didn’t leave the entire property. Was Meek being belligerent? Was he waving a gun around or something? He claims no, he’s just “guilty” of being black, and now he’s going to sue them for it.
Over the weekend, Meek Mill decided to treat his Twitter followers to a Q&A using the hashtag #AskMeek, where he discussed a multitude of topics. One such topic that fans wanted the answer to was how he felt about his ex Nicki Minaj‘s new boyfriend Kenneth Petty and Meek was very open. Honestly, at some points during the conversation, Meek was a little too open. Like mouth-on-the-booty open.
Who would have thought any of us would have something in common with Nicki Minaj besides a big butt and general disdain for Mariah Carey (guilty)? Nicki is easily annoyed by her fellow humans. Just like us! She’s especially annoyed by some of her male peers in the rap game. On Barbie Dreams, a track off her new album Queen, she pisses on Drake. And DJ Khaled. And her ex Meek Mill. And Young Thug (hopefully for that name). Some of it makes sense. DJ Khaled thinks it’s unmanly to go down on a lady so he’s a tool. And we’re all sick of the “In My Feelings” dance and it’s all Drake’s fault. Hate away, Nicki! Nicki spoke to Apple Beats 1 (via Variety) an hour before her new album dropped and revealed why she packed so much shade into one song.
Sometimes I think these rappers and celebrities truly believe they’re living in some kind of world where ratchet behavior is acceptable. Because yesterday, a video surfaced of Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood cast member Safaree Samuels (aka Nicki Minaj’s ex and alleged ghost writer) apparently getting his ass kicked by a group of people who may or may not know Nicki’s other ex, rapper Meek Mill.
