Sia Reveals She’s On The Autism Spectrum

May 31, 2023 / Posted by:

As if an entanglement with Shia LaBeouf wasn’t a questionable enough choice for this decade, Sia made a contentious movie in 2021 called Music, for which she received super heavy backlash for casting Maddie Ziegler— who’s neurotypical–in the role of a non-verbal autistic girl, for the way the film portrayed autism in general, and for lacking research and input from members of the neurodivergent community. After Sia piss-poorly responded to the backlash in several tweets, the pushback was apparently so taxing on her that she ended up breaking her sobriety and headed to rehab. And now, two years after the whole Music ordeal, Sia just shared that she herself is on the autism spectrum.

Abby Lee Miller Responds To Maddie Ziegler’s Claim That “Dance Moms” Was Toxic

June 17, 2022 / Posted by:

Anyone who has watched even ten seconds of Lifetime’s metaphorical cry for help Dance Moms has probably considered calling up Poison Control to ask if the series has been added to any list of harmful toxic substances. Because Dance Moms was rife with moments that would make a person wonder how much income Abby Lee Miller would inevitably generate for the therapy industry (although that’s not a financial estimate I’d trust Abby to calculate, given her history with money fraud). Maddie Ziegler, arguably one of Dance Mom’s most famous child dancers next to JoJo Siwa, has spoken out about the show that kick-started her cha-cha-cha to fame, and it’s a less than flattering profile of the show. But if you ask Abby about it, Abby will bust out a little interpretive dance called the confused head-scratcher, because she has no idea what Maddie is talking about.

Sia Went To Rehab After The Backlash Over Her Movie “Music”

January 20, 2022 / Posted by:

Remember the 2021 film Music, directed, written, and produced by Sia, and starring Kate Hudson and Maddie Ziegler? It was a cinematic fiasco that received bad reviews from critics and those who made the decision to watch it. Well, Sia apparently heard everyone’s criticism of the movie, and all that negativity really did a number on her mental health. So much so that she was forced to check herself into rehab for treatment.

Kate Hudson Responds To The Backlash Over The Portrayal Of Autism In Sia’s Movie “Music”

February 22, 2021 / Posted by:

Sia wrote and directed the original musical movie Music, which stars her longtime muse, Maddie Ziegler, as a girl with nonverbal autism. The movie suffered huge amounts of backlash before it even came out, and while Sia tried to defend making a movie about autistic people with bad autistic representation, people were still pissed. Now that it’s been released and completely shat on by critics and viewers alike, Kate Hudson, who appears in the film as the sister of Maddie’s character, has come out to say that everyone is “listening” to the “conversations.” Not sure if it’s a “conversation” as much as people booing and hissing while throwing rotten tomatoes at the movie.

Sia Responds To The Shit She’s Getting For The Portrayal Of Autism In Her New Movie

November 20, 2020 / Posted by:

Sia only just debuted the trailer for Music, the musical movie which she wrote, directed, and produced. It stars Sia’s forever muse, 18-year-old Maddie Ziegler, Kate Hudson, and Leslie Odom Jr. Maddie stars as a non-verbal teenager who is autistic, and it didn’t take long for Sia to get hit with some heat over the choice to not cast an autistic person in the world, as well choosing to work with the controversial organization Autism Speaks. Sia reacted well to the criticism and by that I mean she reacted like shit. A great way to start the movie’s marketing campaign! They obviously used Kate Hudson’s Fabletics person.

The Questionable Choices Of The Teen Choice Awards Red Carpet

August 12, 2019 / Posted by:

The Teen Choice Awards always draws a perplexing crowd of adults and very few actual teens. And the adults these unseen teens have chosen this year only reaffirms the stereotype that teens make questionable choices. And judging from some of these blue carpet looks, it’s not just the teen’s choices we should be questioning. Taylor Swift was awarded the first ever Teen Choice Icon award, and possibly a cease and desist letter from Barbra Eden for stealing her look. What else can I say, one day she looks like Pollyanna, the next day she looks like a rich older lady sitting at a bar in The Forum at Caesar’s Palace working on her fourth whiskey sour and her third husband. Do you like her outfit? She got it at Versayce.
