Lily James Was Coy When Answering Questions About Chris Evans As Dominic West’s Wife Is Reportedly Weighing Her Options

After breaking up with her long-time boyfriend Matt Smith but before her dalliance with her married co-star Dominic West, Lily James enjoyed a boozy/powdery(?) picnic in the park with pals and was spotted around London with America’s Hunk, Chris Evans, COVID be damned. Safe to say she’s checked the box marked brazen, but she has yet to embrace the hussy label. A bolder actress might take advantage of being at the center of what is possibly the most fun gossip story of the pandemic and really make a meal of it (did Angelina Jolie teach the girls nothing?!?!), however Lily continues to demur. According to CinemaBlend, Lily’s press obligations to promote Rebecca included an interview with The Guardian. When asked about her relationship with Chris, Lily responded “no comment” instead of giving us the inside scoop on Chris’ iPhone remake of The Shadow. To which I say BOO.

Rebecca is getting horrible reviews and to top it all off, Lily was recently implicated in the demise of her co-star Armie Hammer’s marriage (in spirit if not in deed). So I can understand her not wanting to delve into that whole situation. But traipsing around town with free and single Chris is something to crow about. However, Lily played it coy.

In a new interview following the release of Netflix’s Rebecca, Lily James was asked about what she’d done over the summer. She told The Guardian she spent much of her time relaxing in London and doing homebody activities, such as reading poetry out loud. When asked specifically about Chris Evans, she demurred, noting, “No comment. I couldn’t confess to breaking laws, you know.”

It should be noted that paparazzi seemingly caught Lily James and Chris Evans out and about in London doing various activities over the summer. The two actors allegedly saw one another during a night on the town and again for a picnic in a park, though things seem to have fizzled — or at least dropped off the paparazzi’s radar — after that. As for the “breaking laws” comment, the U.K. has complex rules related to bubbles and the people whom you should and should not be seeing right now.

Apparently, there was some question as to whether or not Chris was in her government sanctioned COVID bubble with the likelihood being that the only bubble he had anything to do with was his own internet approved bubble butt. But if licking Chris Evans’ soft serve is a crime, Lily’s not fessing up. However, some might consider her alleged affair with Dominic a crime of passion, and according to The Daily Mail, the presumed victim, his wife Catherine FitzGerald, has now gone into full-blown crisis mode. Turns out, you can’t believe everything you read, even if it is hand-written in sharpie.

Despite their defiant display, insiders claim Catherine, who shares Dora, 13, Senan, 12, Francis, 11, and Christabel, seven, with the actor, is now at her family home in County Limerick, Ireland where she is deciding the future of her marriage.

…the couple put on their bizarrely defiant display and insisted all was well, however, Catherine is now said to be seeking advice from her sisters Nesta, an illustrator, and Honor, an actress, in regards to her marital future.

A source told The Sun: ‘She’s holed up in her family’s ancestral home, Glin Castle in County Limerick, thinking everything over.

‘Catherine has called on Nesta and Honor to help her as she’s been struggling to come to a decision about whether she and Dominic can go back to how they were.

‘Nesta has told friends that it felt like a family crisis meeting. Both she and Honor are fiercely protective of their older sister and want only what’s best for her, even if that means Catherine walking away.’

There must be some way for Catherine to use this situation to drum up business for Glin Castle which is currently available for weddings, family gatherings, holiday events, and if she plays this right, divorce parties of any size.
