Soon-to-be Vice President Kamala Harris is the star of Vogue’s February issue, and last night, the cover “leaked” (read: Anna Wintour waved her Cartier-decorated claw at a minion to leak it to generate maximum attention). And at first, some people thought the cover was fake, because it looks like a test shot of Kamala Harris was Photoshopped into the backdrop at a low-budget Bridgerton-themed high school prom. But the cover is real, and it’s reportedly not the picture that Kamala’s team thought would be the cover. So this morning, Anna Wintour is probably raising a crystal goblet full of the blood of an intern to herself for stirring up a little promo drama.

Oh, look, another contest that Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden. Donald Trump was one of the four finalists announced in the running for TIME Magazine’s annual Person of the Year issue, and I’m sure he’ll compose a tweet saying he totally turned them down again. The four finalists were Trump, Joe Biden, frontline workers and Dr. Anthony Fauci, and the movement for racial justice. TIME decided to give the cover honor to Joe as well as Kamala Harris.

Bill Burr’s “Saturday Night Live” Monologue Divided The Internet, Or Something
Comedian Bill Burr hosted Saturday Night Live last night (with Jack White filling in as musical guest after that country nobody Morgan Wallen was dropped for acting a COVID fool), and his opening monologue gave some a case of the cringes and others a case of of the slow claps. Bill went in on cancel culture and anti-maskers and wondered why Pride Month gets June while Black History Month gets the short month of February. Bill also had things to say about white women, so he just replaced a mandatory mask sign as “Karen” enemy #1.

After finishing up last season with those acid-trip at-home episodes, Saturday Night Live was back in the studio for its 46th season and performed for an audience made up of a handful of first responders in masks who were probably thinking, “Err, should I be taking a risk for this!?” For the cold open, Alec Baldwin slapped another fire hazard on his head to squint and pout as Donald Trump, Maya Rudolph was back as Kamala Harris, and Jim Carrey debuted his Joe Biden. But because the current news cycle is like a deranged roadrunner on speed, they should’ve just opened with a view of the writers’ head spinning while trying to keep up with the news.

About a quick second after Joe Biden named Kamala Harris as his running mate yesterday, Maya Rudolph’s name started trending on Twitter, which makes you think that maybe Joe Biden should’ve picked Maya Rudolph AS Kamala Harris for his running mate. But everyone immediately thought of Maya because of her Emmy-nominated Kamala impersonation on Saturday Night Live. Well, Maya should start working on her Cuba Gooding Jr. “SHOW ME THE MONEY!” impersonation, because she’ll need to bring it out when Lorne Michaels calls her to play Kamala all through election season.
