Barbie Ferreira Denies The Rumors About The On-Set Drama On “Euphoria”
The second season of HBO’s massively successful adults-pretending-to-be-teens drama Euphoria has been a bit of a mess both on and off-screen. But behind the camera, there has been tons of speculation about what kind of show Sam Levinson is running, and HBO eventually had to step in and say that everything was fine. One of the biggest rumors to come out of this season is that Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat, let Sam know that she didn’t like the direction her character was going and that led to him cutting her scenes. Barbie spoke up about the rumors and called most of them “untrue.”
Open Post: Hosted By “The Baby,” HBO’s New Show About A Murderous Infant Who Falls From The Sky
The 1988 camp classic Killer Klowns from Outer Space is getting a horrifying update. Killer Klowns just don’t pack the same punch as they used to, thanks in part to the upstanding way Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of Insane Clown Posse have comported themselves these past few years. Scary clowns jumped the shark when Kanye ran for president. Now they’re just sad. Nowadays, the thing that curdles the blood and jellies the knees are killer babies from outer space. That’s the premise of The Baby, a new horror/comedy series from HBO and Sky, set to premiere in late April. The only baby scarier than The Baby’s cherubic psycho killer is Bhad Bhabie, and the only baby who’s more grotesque is DaBaby. However, Boss Baby remains in a ghastly class of his own.
Zendaya Denies D.A.R.E.’s Claim That “Euphoria” Glamorizes Drug Addiction
There’s a Euphoria feud currently happening between Zendaya, Euphoria executive producer and star, and the anti-drug education program, Drug Abuse Resistance Education, better known as D.A.R.E.. It all has to do with D.A.R.E.’s perception of the show, which is that it’s going to encourage teens to run head-first into a sexy, cool, alluring world of chronic drug use and spiraling addiction. Zendaya has something to say about that, and she would like everyone to know that getting kids hooked for life on the bad stuff isn’t Euphoria’s mission statement.
Peter Dinklage Says He Knows Why Fans Hated The “Game Of Thrones” Series Finale
Cast your memory back to 2019. I know it hurts, but try. It wasn’t the best of times, but it also wasn’t the worst of times. 2019 brought us a bunch of stories that initially enraptured us but were never thought of again and they certainly didn’t reverberate well into 2020. For example, remember when Jussie Smollet was attacked?! That was wild, wonder if they ever caught whoever did it. Also, can you believe Tristan Thompson cheated on Khloe Kardashian, both of Lori Loughlin’s daughters got into USC, Alex Trebek died leaving Jeopardy! temporarily hostless and Lady Gaga, of all people, was doing the most for an Oscar campaign. Whew, 2019 — What a time to be alive! But there was one story that year still has legs. I don’t know about you but I haven’t slept a wink since the series finale of Game of Thrones. Thank God for Peter Dinklage who has finally answered the question that has been dogging us for years — The REAL reason everyone hated the GOT finale. Hint: It’s not because it was absolute dog shit. It’s because we’re dumb and possibly racist.
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Is Very Mad They Were Featured On “Insecure”
The fifth and final season of Issa Rae’s HBO series Insecure is currently airing, and it’s gotten some viewers all fired up on social media. And not because they’re wondering what the Hell they’re going to do after Insecure comes to an end (the new episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm might scratch that HBO awkward comedy itch, but for how long!?). It’s because some current and former members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority were positively incensed that a character from Insecure, Tiffany DuBois, has been wearing AKA colors and insignia. They were so mad, they took to all manner of social media to call out Issa and the actress who plays Tiffany, Amanda Seales, and HBO, and Insecure’s production team. They got so mad, some of them might escalate this situation to call out the inventors of the colors salmon pink and apple green. But Issa Rae isn’t having any of it, because it’s just a TV show! And as such, she also decided to do some damage control on social media.
There’s Talk Of A “Sopranos” Prequel Series, And A New Book Gets Into James Gandolfini’s Time On The Show
2021 is the year we reached peak Sopranos nostalgia. First, there was the prequel film The Many Saint of Newark, and now series creator David Chase has hinted that there may be a sequel to the prequel movie, set after the events of the film (the 60s and 70s) and before the timeline of the 1998 TV show. Now Ann Sarnoff, the CEO of Warner Bros, tells Deadline that they’re in talks with David about “a new series, Sopranos related, on HBO Max.” But apparently, it’s still up in the air whether the project would be a film or TV show. In the past, David has said he’d do a prequel if he and Sopranos writer/executive producer Terrence Winter could write the script together. So we shall see!
In other Sopranos news, there’s a new book called TinderBox: HBO’s Ruthless Pursuit of New Frontiers, and it gets into how James Gandolfini became Tony Soprano. Author James Andrew Miller writes that James struggled with the role, often taking showers after a day of shooting because playing Tony felt “dirty.” And when he was asked to film a scene where he jerks off, he threw a “tantrum.” I guess it’s a helluva lot cooler to get your rocks off onscreen with one of your “whoo-ahs,” than by your own hand.
