Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum are the latest comedy duo in Hollywood, or something! The trailer for their new movie, The Lost City, is more hammy than what’s in Don Draper’s pants! Previously announced under the name, The Lost City of D, (cowards! Why change it?!), the movie follows Loretta Sage (Sandra), a romance novelist who spends most of her time alone and gets wrapped up in an eccentric billionaire’s (played by Daniel Radcliffe) scheme to find some ancient lost city which she wrote about in her newest book. Then, the hunky cover model, Alan (Channing), who represents her heroic male lead, “Dash,” comes to the jungle to save her and be a real hero! Of course on the journey, the two fall in love–duh. As the official synopsis puts it: “Thrust into an epic jungle adventure, the unlikely pair will need to work together to survive the elements and find the ancient treasure before it’s lost forever.”

J.K. Rowling continues to have a whole lot to say about trans people on Twitter. And her thoughts have more than one former cast member from the Harry Potter universe publicly calling her out. Personally, I’m waiting for Hagrid to hop on Instagram Live and say the words, “Yer a transphobe, Joanne.” But that hasn’t happened yet. So far we’ve heard from Harry Potter himself, Daniel Radcliffe, and now we’re hearing what Eddie Redmayne thinks about it.
Daniel Radcliffe Had Words To Say About J.K. Rowling’s Transphobic Tweets
This past weekend, while the world was dominated by news of Black Lives Matter, that dangerous doofus in the White House, and the continuing threat of coronavirus, J.K. Rowling showed her ass on Twitter over a totally different topic. In a series of transphobic tweets, she picked apart the definition of “woman” and “sex”. Who asked? Sigh. No one. Not a soul.
This ain’t J.K.’s first anti-trans tweet rodeo. And she’s yet to respond to the wave of anger she received. But The Boy Who Lived, Harry James Potter (Muggle name: Daniel Radcliffe), felt compelled to respond. In a statement posted to The Trevor Project site (a non-profit focused on the suicide prevention of LGBTQ+ youth that Daniel has worked with for the last decade), he stated that “transgender women are women”.

Ten years ago, Daniel Radcliffe said “Evanesco!” (it’s the vanishing spell) to alcohol forever and committed to the sober life. Big choice to make at age 20, when most people are boozing like every weekend is St. Patrick’s Day. Daniel, who does NOT have coronavirus, opened up about his issues in a BBC Radio 4 interview. He once again said that playing Harry Potter was the main reason he became an alcoholic.

In times of crisis, what the world really needs is to come together as one, and that’s exactly what happened for about 10 minutes yesterday when the entire world was praying for Harry Potter. Ok, maybe not the entire world, but a number of ding-dongs on the internet who believed a false report that Daniel Radcliffe was the first celebrity to test positive for coronavirus. Reader, I was one of those ding-dongs. But because of the rigorous journalistic integrity with which I live my life, I figured it out pretty quickly when the Tweet I saw from @BBCNewsTonight reporting it, didn’t have a link attached. But for a solid 30 seconds, I was like, “oh damn, for real?” Thankfully, Daniel’s publicist has done more to assure the public about the realities of Covid-19 than our own government by letting us know the report is false, and that Jameela Jamil is actually the first celebrity to test positive for the disease (citation needed).

Whew, Daniel Radcliffe, lightning bolt-headed magic child, no. I am currently typing this post 10 minutes south of Boston, deep in the heart of Pats Nation so I’m in the know. And you don’t have to believe me but BELIEVE ME – you better fling a leg over your Quidditch broom and zoom your Hufflepuff whatever ass out of this dimension. Because Pats Nation is CRAY over the GOAT (aka New England Patriots golden boy Tom Brady) and they will come for you. These people don’t care that Tom Brady supports #Twitler. They wouldn’t care if he supported the actual Hitler! Tom Brady could be slapping puppies in the middle of Faneuil Hall wearing a BUILD THE WALL t-shirt while simultaneously doing all of their wives and heterosexual New England men would still be lining up to blow him. *crickets* Uh, yeah, Daniel Radcliffe called Tom Brady out for supporting Trump.
