Meta Has Cancelled All Of Facebook Watch’s Original Programming, Leaving “Red Table Talk” To Search For A New Home
Now that Meta (the artist formerly known as Facebook) is trying to blend our lives into virtual reality, it’s finally doing away with all of the original Facebook Watch content streaming on its platform. Honestly, my first thought was, “Wait, there’s more than just Red Table Talk?” but apparently, there were tons of shows that once found their home within the graveyard of social media. Unfortunately, now that we’ve received this breaking news, it’s too late to care. But since RTT has always been one of their more popular shows, thanks to Jada Pinkett Smith‘s gut-wrenching performance as a caring talk show host, it’s currently looking around for another place where it can bring the tears and scandal once again.

Kim Basinger and daughter Ireland Baldwin are on the most recent episode of Red Table Talk to discuss their struggles with anxiety. 68-year-old Kim reveals that she lived with agoraphobia for years. If you’re a psychologist like Dr. Jada Pinkett Smith, you’ll know that agoraphobia is a rare anxiety disorder where people are afraid of getting into situations where they’ll panic. In many cases, the sufferer avoids open, public spaces and crowds. Kim says she constantly stayed at home, was scared of everything, and eventually had to relearn how to drive. Interesting. Before this, my only knowledge of agoraphobia came from that one creepy plant-obsessed guy from Twin Peaks, and Edna Turnblad (John Travolta) from the movie Hairspray. The Trailer For The Fifth Season Of “Red Table Talk” Is Here, But There’s No Mention Of The Oscars Slap
Not too long after Will Smith’s right palm made contact against Chris Rock’s face at the 2022 Oscars, I found myself eagerly anticipating how Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk would break down that moment by every perceivable angle, discourse, discussion, and serious-eyed “Are you kidding me?” stare (possibly Adrienne Banfield Norris’ most enjoyable contribution to the show). But anyone who was waiting to see how The Slap would be covered on Red Table Talk is likely going to have to wait a while longer. Because the trailer for the fifth season has just dropped, and there’s not an open palm nor G.I. Jane reference nor remorsefully teary-eyed Will Smith to be found.
