Kanye West Is Still Invited To Attend The Grammys Ceremony

March 22, 2022 / Posted by:

Kanye West recently became the latest physical manifestation of the phrase “Fuck around and find out,” when he was put in a 24-hour Instagram timeout for violating its policies on hate speech and bullying for calling Trevor Noah a racial slur. Kanye was then banned from performing at the Grammys next month. It sounded like the Recording Academy was fulling washing their hands of Ye, but as it turns out, it’s more like they’re just wiping their hands on the nearest napkin. Kanye is still very much invited to the Grammys next month.

Kanye West’s Grammy Performance Has Been Canceled Over His “Concerning Online Behavior”

March 20, 2022 / Posted by:

A quick second after Instagram locked Kanye West out of his IG account for 24 hours due to him throwing a racial slur at Trevor Noah, among other things, the Grammys decided to get into some Ban Kanye (Banye?) action too. The Grammy producers must have done the math and realized that Kanye West + a mic + a live show = Not A Fucking Good Idea. Because a rep for Kanye (seen above looking like Storm’s second cousin going to a David Byrne’s Big Suit-themed leather bar) tells Variety that he was supposed to perform at this year’s Grammys, but not anymore.

The Grammys Show Has Been Pushed To April And Will Happen In Las Vegas Instead Of Los Angeles

January 19, 2022 / Posted by:

If you ask the likes of The Weeknd, The Cholula Cum Sack Don that is Drake, and Frank Ocean, they’ll probably tell you that the Grammys should really take place in a tomb since it’s a dusty, dead relic. But well instead of moving it to a tomb, the Grammys show has been moved to the land where us dusty relics guzzle down free cocktails while playing the penny slots for days on end (yes, I’m a penny slot slut). The Grammys were supposed to take place on January 31 at the NoImNotCallingItTheCryptoDotCom Arena in Los Angeles, but because COVID-19 continues to fucks its way into breathing holes everywhere, they postponed it indefinitely. But yesterday they announced that they’ve pushed the date to April 3 and the location to the Kingdom of Celine Dion!

Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” Got A Grammy Record For The Most Writers On One Song

January 2, 2022 / Posted by:

Billboard says that Justin Bieber is now the person nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammys with the most co-writers ever credited. Yes, it took ELEVEN whole people to bring his song Peaches to life. Which must be infuriating for poor Justin. I mean, that’s how many people it took to convince The Grammys to let him into the R&B category?

Drake Withdraws His 2022 Grammy Nominations

December 7, 2021 / Posted by:

Two weeks ago, the nominations for the 2022 Grammy Awards were announced, and I’m sure it was thrilling for all those involved. I’m assuming, since I’ve never been in such a position. But one time I did read enough books to qualify for a Book It! prize at Pizza Hut, so I believe I understand the level of excitement at play here. But as we’ve come to learn, not everyone was happy to see their name recognized by the Recording Academy last month. Like Drake, who for some mysterious reason has decided to withdraw his name from 2022 Grammy Awards consideration.

The Recording Academy Defends Marilyn Manson’s Grammy Nomination

November 24, 2021 / Posted by:

Yesterday, the 2022 Grammy nominations were announced, and Marilyn Manson, who has been repeatedly accused of sexual assault and misconduct by several women (most notably Evan Rachel Wood), was nominated for his contributions to Kanye West’s album, Donda. No, you can’t get nominated for participating in shameless publicity stunts; Marilyn Manson provides vocals on the song “Jail pt 2.” Also nominated for a Grammy yesterday was Louis C.K., who you may remember as the man who admitted to jerking off in front of unwilling participants, was nominated for Best Comedy Album, for his latest album Sincerely Louis C.K. Naturally, those choices had some people questioning the Recording Academy, and the Recording Academy has come back to utter the age-old creep-excusing adage of “Judge the artist, not the art.
