Alec Baldwin Is “Overjoyed” To Be Done Playing Donald Trump On “Saturday Night Live”
Saturday Night Live happened as scheduled on Saturday night, which was generous of them, as I think everyone at home would have been satisfied with a live 90-minute broadcast that was just the cast and crew getting drunk on stage while Alec Baldwin lit his Donald Trump wig on fire (with maybe a 10-minute break for the Foo Fighters. After all, they were kind enough to make the trip).
But the show went on as planned, or at least whatever could be worked around the biggest same-day last-minute update of the past four years. That would be the news that Joe Biden was announced President-elect and Kamala Harris as Vice President-elect, which also means Jim Carrey and Maya Rudolph remain employed for the next four years. That also means Alec Baldwin’s Trump won’t be needed for much longer, and he’s okay with that.
Adele Ended Up Singing On “Saturday Night Live” After All
And no, she didn’t slip back into those Bantu knots to belt out a Bob Marley-Shaggy-Grace Jones medley. In fact, Adele, who randomly decided to host “Saturday Night Live” last night (with musical guest H.E.R.), kept it MOSTLY safe and boring while relying heavily on those cue cards and said she wouldn’t sing but eventually did. And I said “mostly,” because there was one skit that made people scream, “Adele’s at it again!”

It was announced on Sunday that Adele will host Saturday Night Live for the first time ever. That news came hot on the heels of the revelation that she had reportedly summoned her lawyers a few days before that and sicced them on The Sun for publishing that story about Chris Brown being at her house.
Bill Burr’s “Saturday Night Live” Monologue Divided The Internet, Or Something
Comedian Bill Burr hosted Saturday Night Live last night (with Jack White filling in as musical guest after that country nobody Morgan Wallen was dropped for acting a COVID fool), and his opening monologue gave some a case of the cringes and others a case of of the slow claps. Bill went in on cancel culture and anti-maskers and wondered why Pride Month gets June while Black History Month gets the short month of February. Bill also had things to say about white women, so he just replaced a mandatory mask sign as “Karen” enemy #1.
Jack White Will Replace Morgan Wallen As The Musical Guest On Tomorrow’s Episode Of “Saturday Night Live”
Earlier this week, we learned who Morgan Wallen was, and not in the way his agent would have liked. Morgan is a country singer who went viral last weekend, metaphorically, but possibly literally as well, when he was caught in multiple videos published to social media, showing him kissing and partying with a whole mess of random fans. That’s a big no-no when you’re scheduled to be the musical guest of Saturday Night Live, a show that has done the most to make it look like they’re taking COVID-19 safety precautions very seriously. So Morgan was removed from the show, and the last-minute replacement to swoop in and save the day (or night, if you will), is Jack White.
Jim Carrey Brought Out His Joe Biden On The Season Premiere Of “Saturday Night Live”
After finishing up last season with those acid-trip at-home episodes, Saturday Night Live was back in the studio for its 46th season and performed for an audience made up of a handful of first responders in masks who were probably thinking, “Err, should I be taking a risk for this!?” For the cold open, Alec Baldwin slapped another fire hazard on his head to squint and pout as Donald Trump, Maya Rudolph was back as Kamala Harris, and Jim Carrey debuted his Joe Biden. But because the current news cycle is like a deranged roadrunner on speed, they should’ve just opened with a view of the writers’ head spinning while trying to keep up with the news.
