Lizzo Changed Her Song “Grrrls” After She Got Shit Over The Ableist Lyrics
Lizzo’s got a new album coming out in July. You may have heard the first single, “About Damn Time”, cuz it’s all over the TikToks. Her follow-up single is called “Grrrls”, and, over the weekend, its lyrics sparked some controversy. At the beginning of the song, Lizzo sings, “Do you see this shit? I’ma spaz.” She meant that she’s about to freak out, but, as many people on social media pointed out, “spaz” is actually an ableist slur. It comes from the word “spastic”, a term used to describe spastic paralysis, typical of cerebral palsy. Following the backlash, Lizzo apologized and changes the lyrics to “Hold me back.” She says the slur was unintentional; she was unaware it was offensive. Ah, the ignoramus defense. Lizzo Is Facing Backlash For Calling Chris Brown Her “Favorite Person In The Whole World”
Usually when something from a famous person’s past is discovered, it’s oftentimes a tweet (or series of tweets, or whole Tumblr account) that requires the help of a damage control expert and a standard apology statement beginning with the words, “A long time ago…” or “There are some things in my past that I’m ashamed of.” But Lizzo is currently facing an embarrassing social media moment that can’t be traced back to “another time” before she’s “learned and grown” or whatever other apology-friendly words her publicist would urge her to use. A recent video is making the rounds on Twitter featuring Lizzo and, in her words, her “favorite person in the whole fucking world,” Chris Brown. Don’t panic, the Earth’s population didn’t suddenly drop from 7.753 billion to 2, which would be why people are strongly questioning Lizzo for that endorsement.

Lizzo is back with some new music for the first time since 2019 when she released her first official major label album, Truth Hurts. The nemesis of Jillian Michaels collaborated with Cardi B who in fact appeared in the Grecian video for Rumors while fully with child. And I’m guessing that in that promo shot above, Lizzo is whispering to Cardi, “Girl, where are my eyebrows?” Or maybe Lizzo’s whispering, “Girl, prepare yourself because you know Lindsay Lohan is going to slam us for stealing ‘her’ song.”
Lizzo Asked Her Fans To Give Her 6 Feet Of Space Until COVID Is Over
Lizzo is a celebrity, and if there’s one thing people love to do to celebrities it’s get up in their faces and ask for hugs, selfies, autographs, kisses, blessings, money, etc. But that kind of behavior isn’t COVID-friendly, especially with the Delta variant slutting it up all over America. So Lizzo went on Instagram Live to ask her fans and followers to please give her six feet of personal space if they encounter her in public, even if they’re vaccinated. She says if people don’t do this she’s gonna have to start being “slightly rude about it.” And it’s not cuz she thinks she’s “all that,” it’s because she wants her and close friends and family to stay healthy.

Jillian Michaels is here to make it clear! Yes, she did talk about how we shouldn’t be “celebrating” Lizzo for being a fat and proud woman. But that’s not because she hates Lizzo… specifically. Jillian just hates obesity and we should never look at is a good thing.
