The Weeknd’s HBO Series “The Idol” Is Getting An Overhaul With Cast And Crew Changes

April 28, 2022 / Posted by:

In between his busy schedule of recording music and being a general eccentric, The Weeknd is currently working on a TV series for HBO called The Idol, a drama about a female pop star, played by Lily-Rose Depp, who gets involved with a Los Angeles club owner-turned-secret cult member, played by The Weeknd. The show is co-created by The Weeknd’s long-term producing partner Reza Fahim and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. So yes, it sounds like the perfect recipe for an HBO-style visual mess. Except it turns out that it’s already pretty messy behind the scenes. According to several sources, people are dropping from the project left and right, and some of the reason might be because The Weeknd thought the show was deviating from the real star of the show (aka The Weeknd).

Ben Affleck Really, Really Didn’t Like Working On “Justice League”

January 10, 2022 / Posted by:

This would likely explain why Ben Affleck looked like he would rather spend 90 minutes on the phone with Dunkin’ Donuts customer service support over a glitchy DD Perks Rewards card than do one more promotional appearance for Justice League back in 2017. Even if you haven’t seen Justice League, you likely know that Ben Affleck played Batman, and it wasn’t too long after he took off his rubber Batman suit that he started putting out vibes that he really didn’t want to do it. Ben recently made it known that it wasn’t just the whole Batman thing he wasn’t feeling; the whole experience of filming Justice League was off for a number of reasons, which made for one of the worst working experiences he’s ever experienced.

Adam McKay Talked About His Fallout With Will Ferrell

November 30, 2021 / Posted by:

Time for some straight boy drama! Back in 2019 Will Ferrell and Adam McKay announced they were ending their professional partnership. These two collaborated on movies like Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Step Brothers, and produced a bunch of projects through their company, Gary Sanchez Productions. At the time of the split, they said, “The two of us will always work together creatively and always be friends. And we recognize we are lucky as hell to end this venture as such.” But guess what? That was bullshit. And now Adam is spilling all the dirt in a new Vanity Fair profile. And it’s kind of a big deal (Anchorman quote, my apologies).

George Clooney Wrote An Open Letter To The Daily Mail, Asking Them To Stop Publishing Pictures Of His Kids

November 5, 2021 / Posted by:

When it comes to famous people, some are a-ok with having their kid’s face snapped by the paparazzi (let’s just say they’re big fans of the letter K). Other famous types will gladly let people know that the only acceptable photo of their kids is one that has been pixelated so hard, it looks like a low-resolution Minecraft character. George Clooney likes seeing pictures of his kids show up in the tabloids about as much as he likes Batman & Robin: he doesn’t. And he recently wrote an open letter asking tabloid sites like The Daily Mail to stop posting pictures of his not-famous children.

Drake Had His Lawyers Threaten The Writers Of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” To Take His Character Out Of The Wheelchair

October 15, 2021 / Posted by:

There was once a time that Grammy-winning messy rapper and tacky homeowner Drake was not Drake, but Canadian child actor Aubrey Graham. And Aubrey Graham was famous for playing cool teen heartthrob-turned-shooting victim Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Jimmy was paralyzed and required the use of a wheelchair, thus how the nickname “Wheelchair Jimmy” was born. Drake instantly became one of the most iconic characters on the show, and yet! According to a former Degrassi: TNG writer, Drake was so mad about his character using a wheelchair, that he summoned his lawyers and had them threaten the show with his imminent departure.
