This Year’s Grammys Ceremony Will Be Audience-Free
The Grammys are set for March 14 with Trevor Noah hosting. But since coronavirus is still very much a thing, the Grammys people are taking precautions including moving the ceremony outdoors. There will also be no audience so will it really be the Grammys without Taylor Swift awkwardly dancing to the performances? Well, I guess they could always get an intern to hold up a Taylor Swift cardboard cutout while making it dance, which would be just as awkward.
Blue Ivy Carter Is Now A Grammy Nominee
That section of hope-filled and sleekly gloved but identity-challenged arm you see in the photo above is all of us. It wants, it strives, it works hard, and deposits its paychecks. It shops for glam accessories and slips them on in earnest for photo ops. It impatiently rips open bags of Doritos and faps to hot people it hopes to one day meet. And yet all its best efforts are nothing but a cruel exercise in that humorless asshole we all know as futility. This arm, like all of us plebes, loses time and time again, and gets edged out by the will-breaking, dream-shattering bitch troll known simply as “My Parents Are Famous And Yours Aren’t.” All my arm has to show for years of striving is vexing winter dryness and a raging case of carpal tunnel. Look down and you’ll see the same. But we’re totally not bitter.
As it happens, this particular, elegantly gloved arm is having nothing of the above scenario and belongs to none other than Beyoncé. The future 2021 Grammy recipient, of course, is her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.
Justin Bieber Is Calling Out The Grammys For Snubbing Him From The R&B Category
Earlier today, I wrote about The Weeknd calling out the Recording Academy for the zero Grammy nominations he received yesterday. He’s not the only one who was wondering why their name was absent from the Best R&B Album category. Justin Bieber is mad that he didn’t receive a single R&B Grammy nomination for his album Changes. Unlike The Weeknd, Justin Bieber received several Grammy nominations yesterday. However, they’re not the ones he wanted.
The Grammys Committee Might Have Shut Out The Weeknd Because He Chose To Perform At The Super Bowl (But The Head Of The Grammys Denies This)
Yesterday the Recording Academy announced their nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards and many pointed out that The Weeknd was snubbed for his critically acclaimed album After Hours. To borrow a Mean Girls metaphor, The Weeknd was Gretchen Wieners, and there was no candy canes for him in the Grammy’s bag yesterday. As it turns out, there might be a reason why The Weeknd has been shut out of the 2021 Grammys, and it has to do with the Super Bowl.
Cardi B Slams Wiz Khalifa For Pitting Her Against Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj and Cardi B are mad! But not at each other. Amen! Both wound up venting frustrations thanks to the recently released 2021 Grammy Nominations. Nicki let everyone know that the Grammys aren’t shit, haven’t been shit, and are never going to be shit, and Nicki knew that when she lost the Best New Artist award to Bon Iver. And then for some reason, Wiz Khalifa chose to rile up Cardi B and tried to get her and Nicki Minaj back beefing like the old days. But Cardi B didn’t take the bait! Unlike when she was waiting for election results, Cardi provided a stress-free dismissal of Wiz.
Kanye West Is Now A Grammy-Nominated Christian Music Artist (And The Rest Of The Grammy Nominations)
Well I guess this means we’ll now be required to address him as Grammy-Acknowledged Christian Genius Billionaire(ish) Kanye West. I’m sure he’s typing up the press release as we speak! Kanye’s long-time-in-the-making Jesus-themed vanity project Jesus Is King has paid off, at least in terms of professional validation is concerned. The 2021 Grammy Awards were announced today, and Kanye, seen above playing out his own personal Jesus fantasies in the music video for “Closed On Sundays,” got a nomination in the category of Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. And unlike his bid for President, this is actually something he has a shot at winning.
