Village Roadshow Sues Warner Bros. Over Releasing “The Matrix Resurrections” On HBO Max
Time for another pandemic-related lawsuit in Hollywood because some people didn’t make enough money from a movie! Scarlett Johansson notoriously busted Disney’s balls and got them to pay her ass out after they released Black Widow simultaneously in theatres and Disney+. She sued them for breach of contract alleging she lost out on millions in bonuses. Time for a repeat, as Variety says that production company Village Roadshow is suing Warner Bros. alleging they sabotaged the release of The Matrix Resurrections by releasing it on HBO Max. They need to sue the people who wrote it too because they sabotaged the movie first by making it suck.

It’s a good thing Scarlett Johansson has so many years worth of training in expert-level punches, fights, roundhouse kicks, and scissor-leg takedowns because she’s about to do battle against the toughest, nastiest threat to her career this side of that questionably styled wig they made her wear in Iron Man 2. Scarlett’s movie Black Widow, the long-awaited stand-alone origin story of the Marvel character she’s been portraying since 2010 in nine films, is currently out in theaters and also on Disney+ Premium Access. And by the sounds of things, she’s done waiting for Disney to fork over all the money she expected to make from Black Widow, and she’s gotten her lawyers involved.
“Black Widow” Set A New Pandemic Box Office Record
Movie industry people were very excited to see how well Black Widow did at the box office this weekend. The newest Fast and the Furious movie, F9, had the biggest movie opening since 2019 and so industry folks were excited that despite the Coronavirus pandemic rocking our lives to Hell the last two years, people were still willing to sit in a room with each other for hours at a time. Because Black Widow came out on Disney+ the same day it was released in theaters, time would tell if the industry was really coming back or if people wanted to stay home and watch from their couch. The verdict is in: BOTH MAKE LOTS OF MONEY!

In an interview with Fatherly, mom-to-be Scarlett Johansson talked about how she’s hanging up her tight black suit and is moving on from playing Black Widow. I see that THEE Stephen Dorff’s comments about how she should be “embarrassed” to be a part of a trash movie like Black Widow got to ScarJo! Or she’s just really bored with making zillions of dollars to be in Marvel movies.
