After 24 Seasons, “The Bachelor” Will Finally Have A Black Bachelor
Earlier today, ABC announced who will be the bachelor on the 25th season of The Bachelor. And can you believe it, it’s not a generic-looking white guy with brown hair. Instead, ABC finally got around to casting a Black bachelor. “Wait, so I didn’t get it?” said the 5,397 brown-haired Jasons and Blakes that sent in an audition tape.
“Revenge” Is Getting A Latinx Reboot
I watched Revenge all the way through, and I’ll admit, the first and third seasons are the best ones while the second is all over the place, and watching the final season is like, “Okay let’s get this over with.” And it’s been off TV for a whole four years. So by today’s standards that means that it is ready for the reboot treatment!
Yes, a show popular with gays who liked watching two beautiful, powerful white women take each other down in society, wealth, family-relations and probably execution-style, is now ready to be redone. But this is Revenge for the current age and is getting a twist. It’s about a Latinx character getting revenge on a big pharmaceutical family who caused an epidemic. Wow: that is on the nose.
Charlie Sheen Turned Down “Dancing With The Stars”
Charlie Sheen may be broke, but apparently not broke enough to put his hard won dignity at risk. According to Us Weekly, Charlie was all set to join the cast of Dancing With The Stars this season, but backed out at the last minute when he realized it involved more than standing in the middle of the stage smoking cigarettes through his nose while a lady in a shiny dress twirls around him. Charlie says he walked away from the gig because he can’t dance.
Afton Williamson Named Names In A Post Detailing Why She Left ABC’s “The Rookie” After Being Sexually Harassed And Assaulted
You don’t walk away from a leading role on a popular network drama unless you have a very good reason. Unfortunately, Afton Williamson who plays Talia Bishop on ABC’s The Rookie had several good reasons to bounce. Afton announced she won’t be returning for the show’s second season with an Instagram post. Afton claims she quit because she was sexually harassed by a recurring guest star and faced racial discrimination, harassment, and was sexually assaulted by the show’s lead hairdresser. And though she reported the incidents to HR and showrunner Alexi Hawley, she was still asked to act opposite Demetrius Grosse, the actor she claims sexually harassed her. Even though she was previously told he had been fired! So now she’s naming names, saying “now is the best time in the world to be a woman and I have a platform so it’s time to use my Voice” proving that ignoring workplace harassment in this day and age, is a real rookie mistake.
Every Show Has Been Cancelled
On the heels of FOX announcing that it’s finished off Brooklyn Nine-Nine (BUT NBC HAS SAVED IT FROM DEATH!), The Last Man On Earth, and The Mick, the other networks have released their own kill lists. Fans of Glee-like shows except serious with murky lighting (Rise), suspiciously attractive FBI cadets with big busts and even bigger secrets (Quantico), and Kiefer Sutherland as POTUS-in-danger (Designated Survivor) are shit out of luck today. Those shows, and several others, have been thrown in the garbage, according to EW. Continue reading
A Sneak Peek Of Alec Baldwin’s New Talk Show Will Air After The Oscars On Sunday
If you’re anything like me, Sunday nights already fill you with a creeping sense of dread accompanied by a lingering film of anxiety and malaise. So when ABC announced that it just picked up 8 episodes of Sundays With Alec, an hour long interview show modeled after Alec Baldwin‘s podcast with a premiere to be aired immediately following the Academy Awards, I just went ahead and slit my wrists preemptively. I’m a ghost now and frankly, I think it’s for the best.
