The 2020 Critics Chose Their Choices For Their Awards

January 13, 2020 / Posted by:

Award season turned onwards as the 2020 Critics Choice came in to give away all the awards which have been given by the “critics”. Of course in today’s social media age a critic is just someone with a wi-fi connection, but these critics in particular are like special, or something–so you better listen up because I’m gonna tell you who won and so they’re blessed for the coming year with a boost to their paychecks and asking-potential. Also I’m gonna comment on their clothing choices–Journalism!

Entertainment Weekly says that the critics have chosen. Here are a few of the main winners, which you could have seen coming after the 2020 Golden Globes, to be honest. But I’m glad to see Regina King stays winning! Here are some of the winners:

Best Picture: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Best Actress: Renée Zellweger, Judy

Best Actor: Joaquin Phoenix, Joker

Best Supporting Actress: Laura Dern, Marriage Story

Best Supporting Actor: Brad Pitt, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Best Acting Ensemble: The Irishman

Best Director: Tie between Bong Joon Ho for Parasite and Sam Mendes for 1917 (Better figure it out, I don’t think the Oscars accepts ties.)

Best Original Screenplay: Quentin Tarantino, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Best Drama Series: Succession

Best Actress in a Drama Series: Regina King, Watchmen

Best Actor in a Drama Series: Jeremy Strong, Succession

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series: Jean Smart, Watchmen

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: Billy Crudup, The Morning Show

Best Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie: Jharrel Jerome, When They See Us

Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie: Michelle Williams, Fosse/Verdon

Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie: Stellan Skarsgård, Chernobyl

Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie: Toni Collette, Unbelievable

You can see all the winners here. But of course, walking away with an award is only a part of the award-show experience. There’s also what you look like.

Milo Ventimiglia showed up looking fucking dapper, flashing the photogs a look that says: “I just busted that ass open–or will in the next half-hour.”

Keltie Knight from the Lady Gang podcast, showed up in a skin-toned tulle-fuelled, top-bun explosion of choices:

Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis have shook me because it’s one of the few times the woman looks worse than the dude–I can’t even think of when I thought this last:

Molly Sims showed up looking like the baddest witch on the prairie–she will churn that butter and curse you with a spell:

Billy Porter showed up like he always does–ready to steal a show in a dress:

Zendaya showed up looking like Kim Kardashian‘s next MTV award show cultural-appropriation piece, in a fluorescent-rose breastplate-lewk which I’m obsessed with:

Anne Hathaway may have known she was going to lose to Michelle Williams for Best Actress in a Limited Series, but she still showed up looking like she could accept an award if they changed their minds from the Globes:

JLo showed up in a backless-illusion dress which is cheating, like we saw Hustlersyou can pull-off full-backless–you can pull-off pink-string-binkini:

I notice this event is being sponsored by Fiji Water but there is no FIji Water Girl there… Hmm, did they kill her after the last time? That’s a little dramatic, don’t you think?
