And Here’s The Trailer For “Hustlers”

Ever since it was announced that this Hustlers movie was a thing, I was honestly excited. Cardi B (yes, she’s trying to act now), Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, and Constance Wu pretending to be scammer-strippers? And Julia Stiles, too? Sign me up!

But it turns out that this movie is actually a deep-commentary on the state of unequal monetary affairs in our deeply-unequal modern capitalist economy! Strippers and anti-capitalist propaganda? And it kind of looks a mess. This movie was made for me!

Hustlers, which is going to be out this September, is based on a New York Magazine article by Jessica Pressler called “The Hustlers At Scores”. The film focuses on a group of Robin Hood-like strippers during the 2008 financial crisis who decide they’re going to get even with the Wall Street fat cats who ruined people’s lives and didn’t suffer at all whatsoever for it. They begin stealing from their wealthy clients as means of balancing the scales of justice.

At one point in the trailer JLo, in probably her greatest acting performance since The Cell, says:

“These Wall Street guys… you see what they did to this country? They stole from everybody–hardworking people lost everything. And not one of these douchebags goes to jail. The game is rigged and is does not reward people who play by the rules.”

And to balance the scales you absolutely must rob rich men and use their credit cards to buy nice things for yourself. Bernie Sanders, who? This is the way to save America!

And if you want more proof to confirm that the rumor about Constance Wu being a nightmare on this set is true, just look at those bangs. The hair and wig people obviously hated her.
