Lorde’s Ass Trended After She Revealed The Artwork For Her Upcoming Single
The drought! It’s over! Lorde has officially left the “my new music is coming… soon” desert and announced an upcoming single entitled Solar Power. Poor Rihanna and Adele fans. Your time will come soon, sweet babies. Or, who knows? Maybe it won’t. Anywho! Lorde uploaded Solar Power’s cover art to her website yesterday, with the caption, “ARRIVING IN 2021 … PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE” The artwork shows 24-year-old Lorde on the beach, photographed from below, wearing a yellow shirt and a red thong that completely exposes her Kiwi derrière.
Chrissy Teigen Has Said Goodbye To Twitter And Deleted Her Account
Prolific tweeter Chrissy Teigen has officially quit Twitter. Since this isn’t the first time she’s quit, you’re likely placing bets on how soon she’ll be back. But go ahead and put your money back in your wallet, because there’s a very good chance she’s really, really done with Twitter for good this time. Chrissy got some more hate recently, and normally she’d gleefully appreciate the opportunity to “clap back” until her palms were sore, but she really wasn’t feeling the hate, and yesterday, she decided to leave Twitter permanently.
Winston Marshall Is Taking A Break From Mumford & Sons After Praising A Book By Right-Wing Journalist Andy Ngo
I know a bunch of you just responded, “who, meh, and who?” to that headline, so please, let me explain. A few days ago Winston Marshall, the banjo player in Mumford & Sons (not the one married to Carey Mulligan, the one who split from Dianna Agron last year) received a ton of online backlash after voicing his support for the book, “Unmasked: Inside Antifa’s Radical Plan to Destroy Democracy” by Andy Ngo. Andy, a FOX News regular, is known for his super-right-wing reporting on Portland protests and his affiliation with neo-fascist groups the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer. In a (since-deleted) tweet, Winston wrote: “Congratulations @MrAndy Ngo. Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man.” Well, now Winston will have even more time to catch up on his reading, cuz last night he posted an apology and announced that he’s “taking time away from the band to examine my blindspots.” Continue reading
Sia’s Movie “Music” Will Come With A Disclaimer At The Suggestion Of Autism Activists
Based on the initial reaction to the trailer for Sia’s directorial debut, Music, you might think the disclaimer at the beginning of the movie would be: “Are you SURE you want to watch this? There are other movies you know.”
Since the moment the Music trailer was released, disability activists and persons with Autism or who are neurodiverse have been calling Sia out for…well, pretty much everything about Music. It stars Maddie Ziegler, a neurotypical person, playing a teen with Autism, in a movie that feels like it definitely should have been workshopped with a few more Autism advocacy groups. But one of the more egregious scenes in Music features Maddie’s Music being restrained as a means to calm her down. According to many Autism activists and allies, that’s a big no-no, and they want to make sure people know this before they watch the scene. According to Variety, Sia heard their concerns, and a warning has been added to the film.
Welcome To The Bean Dad Saga, Which Has Turned Into A Mess Involving “Jeopardy!” King Ken Jennings
The only bean dad any of us should be required to recognize is Jay Bush, of Bush’s Baked Beans, a man who is not technically the father of Duke, but a loving father figure nonetheless.
Over the weekend, podcaster and musician John Roderick became 2021’s first Twitter villain after he posted a series of tweets shaming his 9-year-old daughter’s attempt to open a can of beans on her own. That turned into some old problematic tweets resurfacing, a deleted Twitter account, and John’s podcast co-host Ken Jennings getting dragged into it.
Patti LaBelle’s Adopted Son Or Nephew Was At The Center Of A Twitter Black Gay Guy Hunt
A baffling string of events occurred on Twitter yesterday and this time it wasn’t Donald Trump’s fault. Well, not directly. This one’s more on Patti LaBelle. The AV Club reports that Patti’s “son and/or nephew” might be behind one of the greatest political scandals involving an elected official since, well, since whatever it is that Donald Trump is doing right at this very moment. It began with ultra-conservative former Lehigh County Commissioner Dean Browning, who is neither Black or gay (as far as we know) announcing “I’m a black gay guy” on Twitter, and everybody going “what?” And it ended with a man named William Holte, who is either Patti’s adopted son or nephew (or the nephew she adopted) but is in fact a Black gay guy (and conservative) who also goes by the aliases Dan Purdy and Byl Holte on social media, claiming “I’m not a sock puppet”. And now we all know Patti must have felt up on that stage trying to sing This Christmas without her lyrics or backup singers— confused and frustrated.
