A year ago, Megan Thee Stallion found herself in a terrifying situation involving a vehicle, an after-party, her then-boyfriend Tory Lanez, and a discharged firearm, that ended with Megan in the hospital surrounded by medical professionals attempting to remove bullet fragments from her body-oddy-oddy-oddy (god, that song is so good). Tory was accused of being Megan’s shooter and Megan herself confirmed him as her shooter. But Tory denies it, and according to a new song of his, he was set up! Entrapped! Flim-flammed! Framed!
Megan Thee Stallion was shot last summer and her alleged shooter, Tory Lanez, was charged with felony assault and later pleaded not guilty. While you’d assume someone charged with shooting someone else might lay low, Tory sure hasn’t. He released an album where he talked shit about the shooting. Tory released another song that features rapper DaBaby. Shouldn’t he be called DaGrownMan? No, he shouldn’t. Because apparently Megan and Baby were cool, and even did a song together, so she was shocked to learn he was both retweeting jokes about her getting shot and also doing promo for a single with her alleged shooter. This led to a fight on Twitter between Megan and DaBaby.
Last summer, after Megan Thee Stallion was shot in the feet following a party in L.A., she confirmed it was Tory Lanez who attacked her. He denied the allegations but unfortunately for him there was enough evidence to charge him with felony assault–to which he pleaded not guilty. Tory then released an album in which he once again turned himself into the victim and denied he is the one who shot Megan. And then Tory went off in an unhinged video where he again denied shooting her but provided no other viable explanations.
Megan called him “crazy” and released some pointed music of her own in response because two can record a diss track. And now apparently a rumor has circulated that charges were dropped and Megan had to once again defend herself from some pretty blatant bullshit.
Megan Thee Stallion Called Out Tory Lanez On Her New Album (And Released A Cameo-Packed Video For “Body”)
Despite there being hospital staff that can attest to removing bullet fragments from Megan Thee Stallion’s foot, Tory Lanez has insisted that he would never have intentionally shot her, going so far as to releasing an album in which he called her a liar. Megan has just released her own album, titled Good News. It’s probably safe to say more people will end up listening to Megan’s album, on account of her being arguably the more popular of the two. And that’s (ahem) bad news for Tory because Megan has accused him of being her attacker in a song called “Shots Fired.”
Back in July, Tory Lanez–the Drake of Brampton–debuted on Dlisted by allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Rumors of the altercation were all over the place. But Megan went on to confirm he was the one who shot her, claimed he apologized in a text, and said he tried to buy her silence. Tory has released an album where he called her a liar and went on mixed-messaged rants. Tory was eventually charged with felony assault for allegedly shooting Megan. Tory has now pleaded not guilty.
Tory Lanez is out at least another couple of hundred bucks in legal fees responding to new details Megan Thee Stallion gave about the night Tory allegedly shot her in the foot. Megan was recently named GQ’s Rapper of the Year and talked a little bit more about that night in the accompanying interview. According to Megan, Tory begged her not to say anything and even went so far as to offer her and her friend money to keep quiet which is possibly more humiliating for him than still only being the fourth or fifth most famous Canadian rapper, and that only because he shot a woman who’s much more famous and successful than himself. Tory probably had to pay his attorney more to say “false” to this story, than he allegedly offered Megan to stay quiet in the first place.
