Tory Lanez Pleads Not Guilty To Shooting Megan Thee Stallion

November 19, 2020 / Posted by:

Back in July, Tory Lanez–the Drake of Brampton–debuted on Dlisted by allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion. Rumors of the altercation were all over the place. But Megan went on to confirm he was the one who shot her, claimed he apologized in a text, and said he tried to buy her silence. Tory has released an album where he called her a liar and went on mixed-messaged rants. Tory was eventually charged with felony assault for allegedly shooting Megan. Tory has now pleaded not guilty.

The Los Angeles County D.A. charged Tory with one count each of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also says that Tory inflicted great bodily injury on Megan when he shot her in the feet. Tory is facing up to 22 years and 8 months in the clink. TMZ says that Tory’s lawyer, Shawn Holley (yes, THAT Shawn Holley), pleaded not guilty on his behalf in court:

Tory’s attorney, Shawn Holley, appeared on his behalf Wednesday in LA County court to enter the plea in the case. Tory’s yet to go to court himself — his last appearance was over the phone…

Tory’s already posted $190,000 bond and been ordered to stay away from Megan … and he’s defended himself on social media by saying the charges are not a conviction.

But here’s the biggest gag: Tory should really shut the fuck up and have done so already. At the hearing, the state said they were still mulling coming after Tory for talking about her on social media and, hey, oh yeah–that entire album he wrote about his ongoing legal situation which included a protective order.

During Wednesday’s hearing, the state said it’s trying to decide whether they should go after Tory for possibly violating the protective order with his social media posts and song lyrics.

Tory’s next hearing has been scheduled for January 20, 2021. Well, at least we know his 2021 will suck as well as his 2020 right off the bat.

I love that even between the album and ranting (which could see him further screwed legally) Tory still hasn’t offered up a description of what he claims did happen that night. I guess he’ll just show up in court and shout: “Look over there!” and hope it works. Sir, only Dame Jaida Essence Hall can do that. Meanwhile, Tory still hasn’t shut up and tweeted these cryptic messages.

Tory also posted this video on Instagram of him dancing around while mouthing the lyrics, “Bitch, shut the fuck up!

I feel like all law firms who work with celebrity clients need to start putting into contracts: “Must hand over passwords to social media.” Because they’re just spinning their wheels.
